Joshua Stuchlik, son of Mark and Roberta Stuchlik, Edmond, Okla., graduated summa cum laude from Notre Dame University with a bachelor of arts degree.
Mervin and Leona Deines, Jeff and Gayla Deines, Jessica, Shelby, and Justin, Ross and Debbie Coup, Samantha and Adam of Hope, Terry and Julie Deines, Makenzie, Dylan, and Carly ate Mother's Day dinner at a restaurant in Abilene.
Hallie Novak visited me Thursday evening.
Post-Mother's Day celebration was held at Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu's home Saturday evening. Jan Hanschu of Hillsboro, Jennifer Braden of Windom, and Jolene Albrecht of Salina brought the supper. Additional guests were Jayson Hanschu, Jakob and Jorge of Hillsboro, Jeff Braden and Joshua of Windom, Neil Albrecht, Kallie and Morgan of Salina, and Fred and Marguerite Utech.
Christopher and Melissa Stuchlik and family of Lincolnville, Gary and JoAnn Stuchlik and family of Pilsen, Walter Deitrich of Tampa, and Rita Stuchlik of Wichita were Saturday guests of Alex and Jean Stuchlik. They helped Alex put siding on his house.
Selma Ingram visited Thursday morning with Evelyn Strecker. We talked about quilting and I showed her some of my quilts and quilt tops. Selma and her daughter made many baby quilts this past winter.
Mervin and Leona Deines drove Saturday evening to Wichita to attend the commencement at Wichita State University. Melissa Hanschu, daughter of Ronnie Hanschu, was one of the graduates. They attended the reception at Melissa Hanschu's home in Wichita.
Irma Reznicek attended Harvest House Friday at Pilsen Catholic church. They had coffee at 9 a.m. followed by Mass and dinner. The afternoon program was by Dr. Scharenberg of Hillsboro who spoke on aging.
Laura Drebolt, Rose Hill, picked me up Sunday afternoon and we went to Newton to attend the baby shower for Julie Strecker at her home. After signing the register, we played three games. Julie opened the gifts. The hostesses, Jeri Strecker of Goessel and Sonja Strecker of Dallas, Texas, served punch, cake, nuts, and mints. The room was decorated with streamers of blue and gold and pink and green balloons. After the shower, my son Douglas Strecker of Hesston brought me home.
Larry Rudolph visited Friday night with Mike and Karen Walsh and Renee.
Mervin and Leona Deines attended the dance recital Sunday afternoon at Brown Auditorium at Hillsboro. Their grandchild, Makenzie Deines, daughter of Terry and Julie Deines, was one of the dancers.
After visiting Mary Helen Black and Micky Saturday night in Herington, Larry Rudolph stopped at my house and dropped off some groceries.
Edna Mueller and Linda Ihde of Tampa dropped Erich Utech off Thursday evening at the home of Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu where Erich visited while the ladies were square dancing in Herington.
Angie Stika and Micayla picked up Irma Reznicek Saturday morning to attend the dance rehearsal of Micayla at Hillsboro High School.
Gregory Stenzel and daughter Nikki, Becky Jackson, and Betty Stenzel went to Salina Sunday. They ate dinner out in honor of Nikki's confirmation.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wirtz handed out commodities Wednesday from their home.
