Lost Springs: Bradens host baptism dinner

Joshua Braden, son of Jeff and Jennifer Braden was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church in McPherson Sunday. Sponsors were Neil and Jolene Albrecht of Salina, Jayson and Jan Hanschu of Hillsboro, and Jim Braden of Windom. After the baptism, Jeff and Jennifer Braden and Joshua of Windom, Junior and Jeanette Hanschu, Gary and Kathy Braden of Wichita, Jayson and Jan Hanschu, Jakob and Jorge, Neil and Jolene Albrecht and Kallie, Fred and Marguerite Utech, Cynthia Hills, Brittany and Timothy of Sedan went to Pizza Hut in McPherson for dinner. Afterward all went to Jeff and Jennifer Braden and Joshua's home in Windom. Cynthia Hills, Brittany and Timothy were guests of the Jeff Bradens from Friday to Sunday evening.

Gregory Stenzel, daughter Nikki, and Becky Jackson went to Salina Aug. 17 for dinner and shopping.

Michael and Sharyn Mueller of Olathe drove to Salina Saturday. They picked up Clinton, went to his home in Ramona and spent the weekend with Frances, who has not been feeling well. They returned Clinton to his apartment Sunday evening before returning to Olathe.

Betty Stenzel hosted a birthday dinner Sunday in honor of her son Gregory. Others attending were Nikki Stenzel and Becky Jackson.

Bob and Irma Reznicek visited Sunday with Rose Gleason at the Andover Assistant Living Center. They attended church with Rose and had dinner. In the afternoon, Bob and Irma went to Derby for supper with John and Lori Torline, Jennifer, Megan, Carolyn, and Matthew. All attended Fun Night at St. Mary's Catholic school.

Larry Rudolph visited me Wednesday evening. He changed the battery on the electric fence. He attended Millard Hostetter's funeral at Rosebank church the week before. His sister, Karen Walsh, attended the prayer service the evening before the funeral at Carlson's Funeral Home.

Betty Stroda of Herington spent Friday with Irma Reznicek. Carol Makovec joined them later in the day.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik met their daughter Rita, of Wichita Thursday evening in Newton for supper.

Douglas Strecker of Hesston was here Friday evening. He made several rounds in the field before the disc broke. He stayed for supper and returned home with homemade peach and apple pie.

Julie Deines and daughter Mackenzie, hosted a birthday party Sunday for Terry and son, Dylan who turned four. Dylan and Terry have the same birth date. Others attending the celebration were Mervin and Leona Deines, Charles and Yvonne Miller, Herington; Jeff and Gayle Deines, Jessica, Shelby, and Justin; Ross and Debbie Coup, Samantha and Adam, Hope; Vernon and Bonnie Deines, Wichita. They served a "Farmer Boy" cake and homemade ice cream.

The lawn is no longer brown since we had two inches of rain. My son, Clark, called last night to tell me he would be here this weekend to mow the lawn. I talked to my son, Lowell, in San Antonio, Texas, Sunday afternoon. He said his son, Wesley, is in a Phoenix hospital and will have surgery some time this week.

Junior and Jeanette Hanschu went to Castle Rock Ranch Bed and Breakfast at Brookville Friday to celebrate their 38th wedding anniversary.
