Trinity Lutheran Fellowship Club met Sunday night at the home of Mervin and Leona Deines. Those who attended the meeting were Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu, Loren and Orvell Brunner, Steve and Myrna Eskeldson, and Erich Utech. They watched the Super Bowl game, too, and enjoyed snacks and dessert.

Tom and Diann Ensz, Jacob, Colton, and Kyle of Laredo, Texas, arrived Saturday at the home of her parents, Alex and Jean Stuchlik. Tom had to return to Laredo Sunday to go to work. Diann and the boys will stay a week and Tom will return for them next weekend.

Neil Albrecht and daughter Kallie of Salina surprised Jolene Saturday evening in honor of her 30th birthday. When they drove to the Kirby House in Abilene and she saw all the cars there, she knew something was taking place. Those who helped her celebrate were Jayson and Jan Hanschu, Jakob and Jorge of Hillsboro, Jeff and Jennifer Braden and Joshua of Windom, Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu, Fred and Marguerite Utech, Dee Albrecht, Neil's two sisters Donna Staatz and two children and Linda of Herington, and Sallie Utech of Lawrence.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik had a family get-together on Sunday. Those present were Rita Stuchlik and Bob and Debbie Burns and family of Wichita, Christopher and Melissa Stuchlik and family of Lincolnville, Gary and Jo Ann Stuchlik and family of Pilsen, and Diann Ensz and boys.

Mark Makovec and Hunter of Herington hosted a party Saturday night for Chanel's 12th birthday. Guests were Troy and Robyn Heitfield, Taylor, Madison, and Drake, Randy and Colleen Klug, Nicole and Alison, and Jana Riffel of Herington, Jennifer Makovec of Salina, Carol Makovec, and Irma and Bob Reznicek. Cake and ice cream were served.

In celebration of four of the eight birthdays in my family, I took Douglas Strecker and Jeri Strecker, Autumn and Christopher of Hesston, Clark Strecker and Tailor of Andover, Laura Drebot of Omaha, Neb., and Yancy and Julie Strecker of Newton to dinner Sunday noon at Anduss' café in Ramona. We returned to my home after dinner and Clark, Tailor, Jeri, and Autumn opened their gifts. Chocolate cake and ice cream were served. Yancy, Julie, Douglas, Jeri, Autumn, and Christopher left the middle of the afternoon to go to Super Bowl parties. Clark, Tailor, and Laura returned to their homes.

Junior Hanschu attended John Deere Day Monday at Deere Trail Implement in Marion.

Bob and Carol Makovec accompanied Bob and Irma Reznicek to Hope Monday night and attended the Hope/Herington junior high games. Chanel Makovec plays on the Herington A team.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik and Diann Ensz and sons went to Chris and Melissa Stuchlik's home Saturday night to help Charles celebrate his 10th birthday. Also present were Charles' brothers, Timothy, Thomas, and Quinton.

Bob and Irma Reznicek attended the Pioneer Seed Co. supper Monday night at the Pilsen Community Center. It was hosted by Terry Vinduska, Pioneer salesman.

Larry Rudolph was here Friday to feed my cattle. He had a birthday Jan. 22. A couple of his cows had calves on that cold day. A nice birthday gift.

On that same day, plumbers were busy thawing out pipes. I was one who needed help. The pipe froze in my bathroom which is in the northeast corner of the house.

I had a nice visit Sunday with Theresa Tajchman while she was at Anduss Café, eating with Mr. and Mrs. Mark Jirak and family and Margaret Jirak.
