Lost Springs: Family members are guests at Zinn home

Guests of Patricia Zinn from Friday evening to Sunday evening were her daughter Jackie Schlesener and Chris and Susie DeVor, their twin boys Christian and Colton, Kyle, and Kirby of Eldon, Mo. Additional Friday night guests were Joe and Rosie Zinn. Don and Mary Zinn of Emporia and Garland and Barbara Cook of Langdon joined them on Sunday. All visited Uncle Joe Zinn at the Lutheran Nursing Home, Herington.

Connie Jenkins underwent surgery at St. Luke Hospital on Friday. She now is home recuperating. Her mother, Selma Ingram, helped take care of the two granddaughters, Oaklan and Tia, while their mother was in the hospital.

A bridal shower was held at the Rosebank church Sunday afternoon in honor of Rachel Beausoliel. The shower was given by Alyssa Ryff. Rachel's sister Jenny Beausoliel of Salina was in charge of the games played. While the cake, nuts, mints, and punch were being served to approximately 80 guests, Jay Fenske, Rachel's fiancé, assisted her in opening the gifts. Jay, son of John and Jan Fenske, and Rachel, daughter of Fern Leach, will be married Sept. 14 at the Lincolnville Lutheran church. Some who attended the shower were Pauline Fenske, daughter Mary, Jan Fenske, Fern Leach and sons, Don and Norma Bird, daughters Cindy and Julie and their children, Evelyn Strecker, Norma Weber, and Jeannie Weber. Also attending were other relatives and friends.

Frances Stuchlik accompanied Monty and Sarah Stuchlik to the Benton airport Saturday night where they celebrated Kenny Stuchlik's 50th birthday. The party was hosted by his wife Melinda and children. Other guests were Mark and Robert Stuchlik and children of Edmund, Okla., Stanley and Ruby Sharping, Brian and Jan Sharping and children, and Dan and Melissa Stuchlik, all of Wichita, other friends and neighbors.

Adella and Steve Katz and Lori Smithhart of Hillsboro drove to Lawrence Saturday and visited Barbie and Ndao Birame.

Pauline Fenske said they had a good turnout at the 125th anniversary at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lincolnville. Her daughter Margret played the organ for the morning service.

Frances Stuchlik was a Sunday dinner guest of Monty and Sarah Stuchlik.

I have received word that Louise Leuthold, 93, died Aug. 14. Her funeral was Sunday in Billings, Mont. Her parents were John J. and Josephine (Navrat) Pospisil.

Mervin and Leona Deines attended the Lincolnville Lutheran church's 125 anniversary celebration barbecue. The evening program included organ music by the Rev. Eugene Hicks, songs by Andrea Schultz of Salina, and music by the choir of the Risen Lutheran Church, Wichita.

Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu went to Windom Friday night to visit Jeff and Jennifer Braden and son Joshua.

Robert and Irma Reznicek attended Robert and Karen Konarik's celebration of the 25th wedding anniversary Saturday evening at the Pilsen Community Center.

Kallie Albrecht of Salina was a guest from Saturday evening to Sunday evening of her grandparents, Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu.
