Approximately 50 people attended the Ramona Senior Center potluck turkey supper on Wednesday. Kim Antoszyk, president, conducted the business meeting. The following slate of officers was elected: Norma Bird, president; Marlene Anduss, vice president; Evelyn Strecker, secretary-treasurer; Paul Jones and Larry Rudolph, directors; and Kim Antoszyk, member-at-large. Bingo was played following the meeting. Noreen Weems, director of the Marion County Department for Elderly, announced the next board meeting would be in Hillsboro. Weems also showed mementos from Alaska. It was announced there would be a Christmas potluck dinner at noon Dec. 19 with a gift exchange (man for man, woman for woman).
We were so sorry to hear that Ted Hanschu of Marion suffered a severe head injury Saturday in a two-car accident near Seacat Hardware, Marion. He was rushed to a Wichita hospital where he died Sunday morning. His funeral was Wednesday at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marion. Leonard Hanschu of Texas is now the only survivor of the late Fred Hanschu family. We extend sympathy to the family.
Monty Stuchlik's son Ross, Francis Hajek, and Larry Rudolph loaded some of my cattle Wednesday morning and took them to the Herington livestock sale.
Jason and Michael Stika helped Bob Reznicek take his cattle home from pastures on Saturday. Michael and his children, Alex and Micayla, ate dinner with Bob and Irma.
Frances Stuchlik was a Sunday dinner guest of Don and Ramona Beisel. They went to Salina after dinner.
Bob Thornhill, Larry Rudolph, and I distributed commodities Friday afternoon at the Ramona Senior Center.
Marcel and Irma Benda of Pilsen attended the Ramona Senior Center potluck dinner on Wednesday.
Irma and Bob Reznicek joined other relatives and friends Saturday evening and surprised Charles Loewen on his 50th birthday at his home near Hillsboro. Finger food and desserts were served. Irma said Charles was really surprised.
Mervin and Leona Deines picked up Weldon Deines in Herington Sunday and drove to Manhattan for the Kansas State women's basketball game. K-State won the NIT tournament. There were three Kansas girls on the team. They were from Moundridge, Clay Center, and Marysville.
While Bob Reznicek, Bob Makovec, and John Reznicek attended the steak fry sponsored by the Marion Chamber of Commerce Monday evening at the Marion City Building, Irma Reznicek and Carol Makovec met Helen Reznicek in Marion for a pizza supper.
