Lost Springs: Hanschu, Utech attend grandparents night in Salina

Junior Hanschu and his father-in-law, Fred Utech went to Salina Thursday evening where they attended Angel Academy Preschool at the United Methodist church for Dad and Grandparent Day. Junior's granddaughter, Kallie Albrecht is a member of the preschool. Jeanetta Hanschu and Marguerite Utech visited with Jolene Albrecht and daughter Morgan while their husbands were enjoying grandparents' night.

Sorry to hear Sister Alice Klenda died Oct. 8. Wake service was held Oct. 10. Funeral services were held Oct. 11 at Adorers of the Blood of Christ Church at Wichita.

Clark and Laura Strecker of Rose Hill were at my home Saturday afternoon. While Clark mowed my lawn, Laura and I cleaned up vines west and south of the house. "Now we can see your house," Laura said. Clark and Laura took me to Al's Café for supper.

Joe Holub of Haysville, Tish Taylor of Overland Park, and Jenny Biggs and daughter, Sidney of Wichita visited Saturday with Frances Stuchlik.

Douglas Strecker of Hesston and Larry Rudolph set up a portable corral Sunday afternoon in a small corral of mine and covered windows on the hen house with plastic. Douglas checked the tractors and pickup to see the amount of antifreeze needed before a heavy freeze. Before Douglas left that evening, Reign and Marlene Anduss stopped in for a moment before they drove to Lost Springs, Lincolnville, and Tampa to see the scarecrows.

Dr. Bob and Hallie Novak attended the William Schlesener reunion at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Herington. Approximately 40 enjoyed the one o'clock dinner. Fred and Marguerite Utech accompanied Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu to the reunion. Junior said other Utech families attended. Their mother was a Schlesener.

Don and Ramona Beisel of Tampa took their mother, Frances Stuchlik to church service Saturday night at St. John Catholic Church at Herington.

Bob and Irma Reznicek, John and Helen Reznicek of Marion, Charles and Mary Loewen of Hillsboro went to the Holub reunion dance Saturday night at Pilsen community hall. Charles Holub family hosted the event.

Selma Ingram visited Sunday evening with Eva Miller.

Carol Makovec visited Saturday afternoon with her mom, Irma Reznicek and brother, Bob.

Leona Deines said they are busy combining soybeans.

Larry Rudolph and I were busy getting cows and calves into the portable corral early this morning. Monty and Larry loaded the calves into Monty's cattle trailer and took them to Herington sale barn. Today is sale day.

Ross Stuchlik took some of Alex Stuchlik's cattle to the sale this morning.
