Lost Springs: Hanschus attend prayer service for Krause

Junior and Jeanette Hanschu attended the prayer service Tuesday evening for his sister Velma Krause at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion. They attended services Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lincolnville. Interment was at Lincolnville Cemetery. After the funeral, Neil and Jolene Albrecht and Kallie of Salina, Jeff and Jennifer Braden and Joshua of Windom, and Fred and Marguerite Utech gathered at the Hanschu's home.
Mervin Deines and brother Weldon Deines of Herington drove to Manhattan Saturday to watch Kansas State play football.
Ramona Senior Center held their monthly dinner Thursday. Bob Brady led us in prayer. After dinner a meeting was held and then the election of officers. Those elected were Norma Bird, president; Marlene Anduss, vice president; and Darlene Sondergard, secretary-treasurer. Attending were Noreen Weems, director of Marion County for Elderly, Reign and Marlene Anduss, Alfred and Darlene Sondergard, Bob and Rita Brady, Treva Schneider, Larry Rudolph, Martha Erhardt, Jessica Gilbert, Evelyn Strecker, and Jeanne Weber.
Roberta and Mark Stuchlik and Jodi of Edmunds, Okla., visited his mother Frances Stuchlik from Friday to Sunday afternoon. Saturday they all went to the Arts and Crafts Fair in Hillsboro.
Mervin and Leona Deines and Evelyn Strecker attended the Velma Krause funeral on Wednesday.
Larry Rudolph, Bob Thornhill, Bob and Rita Brady, and Evelyn Strecker handed out commodities Friday afternoon at Ramona Senior Center to people from Lost Springs and Ramona areas.
Don and Ramona Beisel of Tampa visited Saturday afternoon with her mother, Frances Stuchlik.
Sally Utech of Lawrence visited Fred and Marguerite Utech Sunday and then stopped to visit Junior and Jeanette Hanschu in the afternoon.
Douglas Strecker, Hesston, had dinner and supper Saturday with Evelyn. He brought mushroom steak. He also disked the field to prepare the ground for wheat.
Ross Stuchlik and Megan Luna visited Sunday afternoon with Frances Stuchlik.
Evelyn's dinner guests Sunday were Clark Strecker and Austin and Laura Drebut, Rose Hill. Clark and Laura bought a house near Rose Hill and are now moving into it. Clark and Austin mowed my lawn and Laura did the weedeating.
This past week I had 10 inches of rain, and as I write the news, it is sprinkling.
