I talked with Frances Stuchlik who has a doctor's appointment today at Newton. Her son, Monty is taking her. The incision from hip surgery is not healing well. She needs our prayers. She receives calls everyday from friends and relatives wanting to know how she is recovering. Ross Stuchlik of Tampa visited this past week. Ramona and Don Beisel of Tampa, Kenny and Melinda Stuchlik of Towanda, and Joe Holub of Haysville visited Sunday with her.
Selma Ingram visited Tuesday with Jane Miller.
Lost Springs American Legion Auxiliary held their meeting Monday at the home of Hallie Novak. After the opening ceremony, Dollye Novak read the minutes and Hallie gave the treasurer's report. President Evelyn Strecker read and presented the communications. The proposed 30 amendments of the department constitution and bylaws were discussed. She announced the Fourth District American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary convention will be held Saturday at Emporia post home and Best Western Motel. She also read the endorsements of department and fourth district officers for 2006-07. Nominating committee was appointed. Dollye closed the meeting with prayer.
Larry Rudolph visited Saturday with his sister, Mary Helen Black at Herington.
The farmers are busy cutting trees, fixing fences, planting corn, and spraying bugs in alfalfa fields. Irma Reznicek said she replanted tomato plants into larger pots rather than covering them up outside in her garden. I think I'll have to do the same. My Early Girls are really growing.
Fred and Marguerite Utech accompanied Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu Saturday evening to Windom to attend a commercial party at the home of Jeff and Jennifer Braden and Joshua.
