Those who came to the mini-health fair June 19 at the Ramona Senior Center were Betty Ohm, Neil Elgin, and Jennie Barrett, Hope; Don and Norma Bird, Paul Jones, Kathy Werth, and Evelyn Strecker. There was a good discussion after the presentation of "Healthy Living for Life" by Nancy Pihl.

Farmers are busy combining their wheat. Mervin Deines said they planted four kinds of wheat. Dominator has been testing 64. They are happy with the yield. It is better than they expected. Farmers now are hoping for more dry weather and if not, only light rain, but no hail or strong winds.

Women are working in their gardens and waiting for tomatoes to ripen and cucumbers to get to be a nice size. Irma Reznicek has already canned 11 quarts of beets. The beets she canned grew much like carrots. I dug some nice sized potatoes. My garden was beaten down by large hail so it has some catching up to do.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik attended Paul (Florian) and Peggy Silhan's 50th wedding anniversary celebration last week at the Cyprus Ballroom in Goddard.

Irma Reznicek went to the Lincolnville ball diamond Wednesday evening to watch Macayla Stika play T-ball. She is the daughter of Michael and Angie Stika.

Douglas Strecker was here Monday evening for supper.

John Reznicek of Marion helped Bob Reznicek harvest wheat this past week. Selma Ingram said Monty Stuchlik finished harvesting her wheat last night.

Clark Strecker was at my house Friday night and stayed overnight. Pulling a small trailer, he was moving building materials from Nebraska to Wichita. He will be stationed at Concordia soon to supervise the building of an 88-room nursing- and assisted-living home.

Neil and Jolene Albrecht and Kelly of Salina helped Junior Hanschu with harvest Saturday and Sunday. Jeff and Jennifer Braden of Windom are going to help him Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. It is yielding 30 bushels.

Saturday morning callers of Frances Stuchlik were her brother Joe Holub of Haysville and his daughter Tish Holub of Lawrence, Candy Stuchlik of Wichita, and Melissa Vinduska of Manhattan.

Jeff Sharping and sons, Andy and Bobbie of Wichita helped Monty Stuchlik with harvest Saturday afternoon and evening. They pitched their tent in Frances Stuchlik's pasture Saturday evening, stayed all night, and ate dinner with her on Sunday. Stanley and Ruby Sharping of Wichita visited Frances Sunday afternoon.
