Mary Loewen of Hillsboro had coffee Wednesday afternoon with her mother and brother, Irma and Bob Reznicek.
Connie Jenkins and Selma Ingram went to the mother-grandmother tea party held Thursday at the preschool in Herington. Connie's daughter, Tia, is a preschool student. Larry Jenkins attended the father-grandfather tea party Thursday evening.
Douglas Strecker of Hesston is now working 8-hour shifts at Hesston Forage. He came after work to help me with some work and to finish plowing the 10 acres. He had supper with me.
Kenneth Reznicek of Burlington visited Irma and Bob Reznicek Tuesday evening and stayed overnight.
We were sorry to hear of the death of Irene (Hanschu) Riffel. She was born and lived just three miles from my place until she got married. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hanschu. Our sympathy to the family.
Becky Lehnerr and son Jerod of Plymouth visitied Patricia Zinn on Sunday.
Maggie Wirtz had surgery last week at the Herington hospital and now is at home. We wish her a speedy recovery.
Bob and Irma Reznicek enjoyed the pancake and sausage breakfast Sunday morning, served by the Knights of Columbus after Mass at the Pilsen church. Bob helped with the serving.
Lonnie and Hazel Busey of Valley Falls visited their aunt, Selma Ingram, Saturday morning. They went to Marion in the afternoon to visit Ivanlee and Mary Ann Timm and their houseguests, Gary and Patty Busey of Rogers, Ark.
Douglas Strecker came Saturday afternoon to do some work. He said they didn't have a bit of rain like we did. Since he couldn't mow the lawn, we went to Herington and got a screen door for my porch. On the way home, we noticed people fishing at Herington Reservoir. The reservoir was filled to the top. It wouldn't take much more rain to make it run over. Douglas went out to the pasture and hoed thistles.
Ian Jenkins, son of Michael and Heidi Jenkins of Hillsboro, spent from Friday to Saturday afternoon with Larry and Connie Jenkins, Oaklan and Tia.
Brett Hajek, son of Ronnie and Leona Hajek, left Saturday morning for Correct, Md., where he now is employed.
Jakob and Jorge Hanschu, sons of Jayson and Jan Hanschu of Hillsboro stayed from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon with Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu and Fred and Marguerite Utech. Junior and Fred helped Jayson move his office Saturday morning to 104 E. First St., Suite A, in Hillsboro.
Trinity Lutheran Fellowship Club members Loren and Orvell Brunner, Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu, Mervin and Leona Deines, and Erich Utech met Sunday night at Trinity parish hall. They had a business meeting and played cards.
Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu attended Irene Riffel's funeral Friday morning at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Herington.
