Mervin Deines and his brother Weldon of Herington drove to Wichita Saturday evening and picked up their brother Vernon then attended the NBC baseball tournament at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.
Junior Hanschu took Erich Utech to Salina Wednesday to see an eye doctor.
Douglas Strecker of Hesston spent Thursday with me. He worked on machinery and brought in some bales from the alfalfa field. He also was here all day Saturday. He brought a kettle of stew and tomatoes for dinner. When he want home, I gave him a cantaloupe. He hauled more large bales into the lot.
Junior Hanschu attended Carroll Shields' funeral Thursday morning at the Lincolnville Lutheran church.
Alex and Jean Stuchlik visited Frances Stuchlik Monday night.
Micky Black of Herington spent Thursday with me. He scraped the paint off the hen house and ate dinner with me.
Dora Mae and Ruby Holub of Marion and Irma Reznicek accompanied Betty Stroda of Herington to Salina Saturday where they enjoyed a meal in celebration of Ruby's 75th birthday.
Bill, Conna, and Teresa Stuchlik of Rogers, Ark., visited Frances Stuchlik from Tuesday to Thursday. Monty and Sarah Stuchlik joined them for supper Tuesday night.
It is nice to watch the Centre school buses come down the hill in the morning. Also, all the other students and teachers in their cars. I can watch them from my west kitchen door. Traffic gets pretty heavy at times on this blacktop road.
Junior Hanschu attended the Farm Bureau supper Saturday evening in Marion.
Bob and Irma Reznicek drove to Burlington Sunday to visit Kenneth and Debbie Reznicek, Nathan, Nicholas, Sarah, and Kory.
Mark and Roberta Stuchlik, Josh, Judi, and Justin of Edmond, Okla., and Josh's girlfriend Diana Lu of Cleveland, Ohio, visited Frances Stuchlik last week.
My dinner guests on Sunday were Micky Black of Herington and Larry Rudolph. Micky painted the hen house and Larry brought in the rest of the bales.
John and Chandra Stuchlik and Ben of Lincolnville visited Frances Stuchlik Sunday night. Monty and Alex Stuchlik also stopped by.
Clark Strecker and Laura Drebot of Andover stopped to visit me Sunday afternoon as they were en route to Andover from Omaha, Neb., where they had spent the weekend. Clark is going to work today for the first time since his back surgery. He will be working in the office of Gibbs Construction Company for awhile.
I received a call from Michael Black of Jacksonville, N.C. He told me, as a Marine he spent some time in Kuwait and Iraq, recently getting back. He is glad to be back in the USA and with his family. He is in communications and a recruiter. He has been a Marine for 18 years.
Emmett and Minnie Sroufe of Garden Plain visited Larry Rudolph this past week.
