I called a number of my dear neighbors and friends for news. They are busy shopping, addressing cards, and decorating for Christmas. Leona Deines said she got her lights up outside of their house. Irma Reznicek said they got their Christmas package off to Ronnie Reznicek in Canada. I had a hard time finding a box for the gifts I am mailing to San Antonio, Texas. I have a number of birthdays, as well as relatives and friends to remember with holiday greetings. It is a busy time.

The Ramona Senior Center will have a Christmas potluck dinner, gift exchange (man to man, woman to woman), and Bingo games Thursday afternoon. Everyone is welcome.

Shane McElroy of El Dorado and friend Brian visited Larry Rudolph on Saturday.

Laura Drebot of Omaha, Neb., stopped Monday morning while driving home from Andover. She brought me a plate of beautiful Christmas cookies she baked and decorated with wreaths, candles, trees, and bells.

Ed Urbanek, 94, died Dec. 12. His rosary and funeral was Tuesday at the Pilsen church with interment in the Pilsen cemetery. His sister Eleanor is the only surviving member of the Ignatius Urbanek family.

I called Mildred Hajek for news. She said she was making fried cinnamon rolls for Christmas. Sure sounded yummy.

Gregory Stenzel, Becky Jackson, and Betty Stenzel attended the winter concert Dec. 9 at Centre High School by the 7th though 12th grades. Nikki Stenzel played in the band and sang in the choir.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik and daughter Rita drove to Chanute Sunday to visit her mother, Ruth Watts, and attend a Christmas dinner at Heritage Nursing Home.

Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu and Fred and Marguerite Utech went to Hillsboro Tuesday to see Jakob Hanschu in a Christmas program at the Hillsboro High School auditorium.
