Lost Springs: Parade, baling, visiting

Carol Makovec visited Irma and Bob Reznick on July 7. Darrel Makovec helped Bob unload bales July 8. He also was a supper guest.

Mervin and Leona Deines went to the parade during the Herington Fair on Thursday.

Rita Stuchlik, Wichita, visited her parents, Alex and Jean Stuchlik from Thursday to Monday afternoon. Rita works for Rainbow Speech Therapist. She works with 25 children from birth to 5 years old. Alex and Jean Stuchlik and Rita drove to Chanute Sunday to visit Ruth Watts and attend the retirement party of Cecil Watts from the Chanute post office.

Mark and Roberta Stuchlik, Jason and Jodie, Edmund, Okla., visited Frances Stuchlik on Saturday and Sunday. The Mark Stuchlik family attended the Winters reunion at Marion County Lake.

Leona Hajek and Mildred Hajek went to Wichita on Saturday where they attended the wedding of Gary Oborny, son of Lester and Marie Oborny, and Gretchen Klug at Blessed Sacrament Church. They also attended a dinner and dance at the Hyatt Regency. Also attending were Irma Reznicek and Ralph and Betty Stroda, Herington.

Mary Loewen, Hillsboro, spent Friday with her mother, Irma Reznicek. In the afternoon they visited Carol Makovec.

Marcel and Irma Benda visited Sunday night with Mildred and Francis Hajek.

Charles and Mary Loewen, Hillsboro, hosted a barbecue supper Sunday night with homemade ice cream and cake in celebration of the birthdays of Lori Torline, Carol Makovec, and John Reznicek. Guests for supper included John and Lori Torline, Jennifer, Megan, Carolyn, and Matthew, Derby; Bob and Carol Makovec, and Bob and Irma Reznicek. John and Helen Reznicek, Marion, showed up for ice cream and cake.

Ramona Senior Center will be receiving commodities at 1 p.m. Friday. Evelyn Strecker, Larry Rudolph, and Bob Thornhill will be handing them out.

Farmers are busy swathing and baling hay. We sure need rain. There are big cracks in the ground. I've been watering the garden. Women say there is not too much to can.

Jackie Schlesener and her son, Junior, and his wife and baby, Jack of Springfield, Mo., visited Saturday and Sunday with her mother, Patricia Zinn.

Becky Lehnerr and son, Jerod, of Plymouth and Garland and Barbara Cook of Langdon came Sunday to visit Patricia Zinn and her houseguests.
