Meeting at the home of Donna (Shirk) Bell in Abilene Saturday evening to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their graduation from the Ramona High School were Mervin and Leona Deines, Harold and Thelma Hanschu of Salina, Charles and Dorothy (Riffel) Boettcher of Greenville, Texas, Glenn and Lois Lorei of Raytown, Mo., Delores (Utech) Siggs of Goddard, and Wayne and Nancy Chandler of Moran. Later they went to the Brookville Restaurant in Abilene for supper.

Descendants of Joe (J.B.) and Clara (Fengel) Shields gathered June 7 at the place where Omer and Dorothy Shields lived 2 1/2 miles west of Lost Springs. This is where Donald, Arlene, Caroll, and Anita were born. They were neighbors to the east of our family, the Lou and Fannie Pospisils. Joe and Clara were neighbors south of us. Leota Shields was my music teacher during the summer. Joe Shields was manager of the Lost Springs Farmers Union elevator for several years. For no special reason, I always liked the real fur coat Joe Shields wore during the cold winters. They were good neighbors.

Irma Reznicek accompanied Ralph and Betty Stroda of Herington to Bellwood, Neb., Saturday morning. They attended the wedding of Kathy Oborny and Shawn Strizek at St. Peter's Catholic Church in the afternoon. They also went to the reception, dinner, and dance at Wahoo, Neb and stayed overnight there. A group of them went to Mass Sunday, then had dinner at a restaurant in Wahoo. They returned home in the afternoon.

Frances Stuchlik's visitors Saturday afternoon were Don and Ramona Beisel of Tampa, Sarah Stuchlik of Lost Springs, and Melissa Stuchlik and Mike and Candee Thode of Wichita.

I attended Gilbert Kohler's funeral Saturday morning at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lincolnville. He was in my brother Emil's class at Lost Springs High School, graduating in 1930. Emil and Gilbert would spend time together, fishing and hunting. He would help his mother, Martha, take care of the Lost Springs Mutual Telephone switch board.

Monty Stuchlik visited Frances Stuchlik Sunday evening.

Larry Rudolph visited Karen and Mike Walsh and Renee Sunday evening, then called on me.

Bob Reznicek got up early Monday morning to get his milo planted before the wheat is ready to harvest. Frances Stuchlik said Monty and Ross have been doing the same thing. They have over 800 acres to plant in milo. Frank Wirtz left Saturday for Oklahoma to do some custom combining.

Alex Stuchlik and his band played Friday evening at the open house at Legacy Park in Peabody. They had a hog roast and gave prizes.

Jeff and Jennifer Braden of Windom brought their son Joshua to the home of his grandparents, Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu, Friday night. They came Sunday evening to pick him up and ate a barbecue supper with the Hanschus and Fred and Marguerite Utech in celebration of Father's Day.
