Lost Springs residents report holiday activities

Patricia Schwartzman of Salina met Victoria Zell Nov. 20 at the bus station in Salina and brought her to my place. She stayed with me until Nov. 24 when she returned to her home in Shelby, Mont. She said when she got home, Gay, her daughter who lives with her was scooping snow off the drive and sidewalk.

Nephew Francis Leon and Clara Krch of Phoenix, Ariz., came Nov. 21 to visit Victoria and me. They took us out for dinner at Al's Café.

John Schwartzman of Salina picked up his mother, Helen Schwartzman of Tampa, Victoria, and me on Nov. 21 and we went to Penwell-Gabel Chapel in Herington to visit our sister, Irene Alouise Agnes Krch, who died at the age of 94 in Phoenix, Ariz., Nov. 16. Her son, Francis Leon, and Clara Krch also were there. Her rosary and funeral were Saturday morning at Tampa Catholic Church. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery, Tampa. Dinner was served by the Tampa Altar Society at the Senior Citizen's hall in Tampa. After dinner, Dr. Ryan Krch flew back to Phoenix and brother Eric Krch drove to Telluride, Colo. They are the sons of Francis Leon and Clara Krch. Other relatives went to sister Helen Schwartzman's home.

Bob and Lorena Pospisil, Libuse, La., visited Sunday morning with me and my sister Victoria Zell. They took us to Butch's Diner in Tampa for dinner. Later we went to Helen Schwartzman's home.

Francis Leon and Clara Krch flew to their summer home Monday morning in Telluride. Bob and Lorena returned to their home in Libuse.

Larry Rudolph helped his sister Mary Helen Black and sons of Herington move into a trailer home in Herington on Tuesday.

Weldon and Rosemary Deines of Herington held a pre-Thanksgiving dinner Nov. 22 at their home. Guests were Mervin and Leona Deines, Jeff and Gayla Deines, Jessica, Shelby, and Justin; Terry and Julie Deines, Mckenzie and Dylan; Ross and Debbie Coup, Samantha and Adam of Hope; and other relatives and friends.

Jason Stika of Lincolnville helped Bob Reznicek with cattle Saturday and had dinner with Irma and Bob.

Fred and Marguerite Utech hosted a Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday. Guests were Junior and Jeanette Hanschu; Jayson and Jan Hanschu, Jakob and Jorge, Hillsboro; Jeff and Jennifer Braden and Joshua, Windom; Neil and Jolene Albrecht and Kallie, Salina; Garland and Dianne Utech, Lance and daughter Allie, Amsterdam, Mo.; Scott and Rachel Utech and son Wesley, Steelville, Mo.; Marlin and Jill Utech, Memphis, Tenn.; and Sallie Utech, Lawrence.

Bob and Irma Reznicek accompanied Bob and Carol Makovec and Colleen Klug, Alison and Nicole of Herington Friday night to Al's Café for supper.

Carol Makovec, Helen Reznicek and Irma Reznicek enjoyed supper Nov. 24 at Gambinos in Marion while Bob Makovec, John Reznicek, and Bob Reznicek attended the annual farm/city banquet hosted by Marion Chamber of Commerce. John Reznicek helped serve the coffee and steaks.

Jeff and Gayla Deines held a birthday party for their daughter Jessica's 15th birthday and son Justin's ninth birthday. Guests were grandparents Mervin and Leona Deines and other relatives and friends.

Junior Hanschu, Tony Meyer, Fred Utech, and Erick Utech went to the steak fry Nov. 24 at the Marion City Building. They said the steaks were good.

Kallie Albrecht, Salina, visited from Thursday to Saturday with her grandparents, Junior and Jeanette Hanschu.

Irma and Bob Reznicek attended the rosary Monday night for Cyril Reznicek at St. Marks Catholic Church, Marion.

Adele Katz entertained Thanksgiving Day for dinner. Attending were Selma Ingram and Steve Katz of Overland Park, Barbie Katz and 'B' of Lawrence, Charles and Lori Smithhart and Michael and Heidi Jenkins and son In of Hillsboro, and Larry and Connie Jenkins, Oaklan and Tia.

Lori Torline of Derby attended the rosary Monday night for Cyril Reznicek. She stayed overnight with her mother Irma and brother Bob Reznicek.

Jeff and Jennifer Braden and Josh of Windom spent Saturday night to Sunday evening with Junior and Jeanette Hanschu.

Betty Stenzel hosted a Thanksgiving Day dinner for her son Gregory, his daughter Nikki, and Becky Jackson. After dinner they decorated Betty's Christmas tree. Gregory and Nikki were Betty's Friday dinner guests.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik entertained Thanksgiving Day with a dinner for their children, Chris and Melissa Stuchlik and family of Tampa, Gary and JoAnn Stuchlik and family of Pilsen, Bob and Debbie Burns and family, and Rita Stuchlik of Wichita.

Junior and Jeanette Hanschu took their parents Fred and Marguerite Utech out for dinner Thursday to celebrate Marguerite's birthday.

Bob and Irma Reznicek attended Cyril Reznicek's funeral Tuesday at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and dinner at St. Marks Activity Center in Marion.

Larry Rudolph, Mary Helen Black, and Micky Black and Lance of Herington were Thanksgiving Day dinner guests of Ray and Connie Hastings of El Dorado. There were other relatives present. Mike and Karen Walsh and Renee didn't get to go because Renee had the flu.

Douglas Strecker of Hesston picked me up Thanksgiving Day morning. We drove to Rose Hill to have dinner with Clark and Laura in their new home. Other guests were Emil Pospisil of Wichita, Ann Drebolt and son Chris of Omaha, Neb., Yancy and Julie Strecker of Newton, Sean Armstrong, Jessica Rinehart and a boyfriend, Austin and Tailor Strecker of Rose Hill.

Clark and Laura took us on a tour of their home, swimming pool, gazebo, and utility shed in the backyard.

Trinity Lutheran Church Fellowship club met Sunday evening. They had snacks while they reminisced. Present were Junior and Jeanette Hanschu, Loren and Orvell Brunner, Mervin and Leona Deines, and Erich Utech.

Irma Reznicek accompanied Paul and Cecilia Reznicek of Littleton, Colo., and daughter, Linda Klein, of Pine Colo., to Wichita to visit Rose Gleason at Assisted Living Spiritual Life Center.

Irma and Bob Reznicek served Thanksgiving Day dinner to Kenneth and Debbie Reznicek, Sarah, Kary, Nathan, and Nicohlas of Burlington, Charles and Mary Loewen of Hillsboro, and Josie Loewen of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Mervin and Leona Deines were Thanksgiving Day guests of Ross and Debbie Coup, Samantha and Adam of Hope.

Alex Stuchlik's Polka band played Saturday night for the Tampa High School Alumni dance at Tampa Senior Citizens hall.

Charles and Mary Loewen of Hillsboro hosted a Thanksgiving Day supper. Guests were John and Helen Reznicek of Marion, Angie Stika, Alex and Miranda, and Jason Stika and friend Shelly, and children Cody and Dalton of Lincolnville, Ed and Mary Fund Reznicek, Ella and friend John, and Evan of Golf, Kenneth and Debbie Reznicek, Sarah, Kary, Nathan, Nicohlas of Burlington, Josie Loewen of Oklahoma City, Okla., Jeremy Loewen and friend Dion Jost, Hillsboro, and Bob and Irma Reznicek.

Marcel and Irma Benda visited Nov. 22 with me and my sister Victoria.
