Lost Springs: Rezniceks and Hanschus attend weddings

Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu accompanied Gary and Judy Neuschafer of Lindsborg Saturday to Texas to attend the wedding of Kayla Karber and Andy Wharton. The wedding ceremony was at Messiah Lutheran Church, Plano, Texas, and reception and dance was held at the Richardson Hotel at Richardson. Kayla is the daughter of Michael and Karen Karber of Gypsum and granddaughter of the late Harry and Irene Hanschu.
Irma Benda of rural Marion visited April 13 with Evelyn Strecker.
Bob and Irma Reznicek accompanied John Reznicek of rural Marion Thursday to Hastings, Neb. They attended the wedding rehearsal of Sam Reznicek, son of Tom and Janet Reznicek of Lawrence and Linsey Hoch, daughter of Marty and Judy Hoch of Hastings at Cecelia Catholic Church. After rehearsal, dinner was served at the home of Marty and Judy and was hosted by Tom and Janet.
Irma and sons, John and Bob also attended the wedding Friday at the church, then the dinner, reception, and dance at Lockland Country Club at Hastings. Others attending the wedding were Bob and Carol Makovec, Colleen Klug and daughters, Alison and Nicole of Herington, Jennifer Makovec of Salina, and Charles and Mary Loewen of Hillsboro.
Alex and Jean Stuchlik drove to Newton Sunday afternoon to visit Bill and Norma Urbanek.
Brian and Jan Scharping and children of Wichita stopped Friday evening to visit grandma, Frances Stuchlik. They were on their way to Clay Center to visit Jan's father.
Larry and Connie Jenkins, Oaklan and Tia and some friends from Council Grove went camping Saturday at Herington Lake. Grandma, Selma Ingram made a chicken dinner and took it to them at the lake.
Kenny Stuchlik of Towanda stopped Saturday to visit his mother, Frances Stuchlik while on the way to Manhattan to visit his son, Matthew. Matthew's fraternity had a father and son dinner followed by game time.
Dollye Novak and Evelyn Strecker went Saturday morning to Emporia to attend the Fourth District American Legion Auxiliary session. At noon they attended the past fourth district presidents' and commanders' dinner at the post home followed by a joint session of American Legion and Auxiliary at the post home. The auxiliary women returned to the motel to finish reports and hold an election. Karen Smith of Dwight was elected president; Lela Mae Knipp of Westmoreland, vice president; Lorene Oppy of Manhattan, secretary and treasurer; Mary Martinson of St. George, chaplain; Colleen Bundenbender of St. George, historian; and Myrna Wood of Peabody, sergeant-at-arms. Colleen Bundenbender and Dorothy Gallaway of Dwight were elected delegates to the department convention May 19-26 at Great Bend.
Irma and Bob Reznicek attended Knights of Columbus breakfast Sunday at Pilsen Catholic church after Mass. Bob helped serve breakfast.
Don and Ramona Beisel of Tampa visited Saturday and Sunday afternoons with Frances Stuchlik.
Adele Katz and son Steve accompanied Charles and Lori Smithhart of Hillsboro Sunday to Lawrence where they visited with Barbie and B.
William Benda said as he drove home from Hillsboro Sunday night he ran into a hailstorm and rain on the Pilsen road. He said the hail was large and he couldn't hardly see to drive. Millie Vinduska and Randy and Kathy Svitak had vehicles damaged by hail. Gary and JoAnn Stuchlik had a window broken in their house. William said they had no damage to their vehicles or property. In this area we had small hail and strong wind.
Bill and Dollye Novak's guest Sunday was grandson, Travis. They took him to Minneapolis that evening to meet his mother.
Mike and Candee Toade of Wichita brought donuts and juice Sunday morning to have breakfast with grandma, Frances Stuchlik. Mike mowed Frances' lawn. They returned to Wichita before noon.
Larry Rudolph has been helping Charles Heiser of Ramona and Jess Brunner of Tampa with cattle and fences. Soon it will be time to put cattle in pastures.
Clark Strecker of Rose Hill was here April 17 to spray my yard and corrals.
Ruby Scharping of Wichita brought dinner Sunday to her mother, Frances Stuchlik.
Monty and Sarah Stuchlik and sons Ross of Tampa and Danny of rural Lincolnville frequently visit Frances Stuchlik.
Deines' are busy planting corn and alfalfa. Some of the wheat is ready to head out.

Bob and Carol Makovec hosted a Easter Sunday day potluck dinner. Guests were John and Helen Reznicek of Marion, Darren and Amy Makovec, Dena and Shelby, Justin Makovec, friend Jammie and her daughter Addyson, Ryan Makovec and friend Donnie, Randy and Colleen Klug, Nicole and Allison, Chanelle and Hunter Makovec, and Troy and Robyn Heitfield, Madison, Taylor, and Drake, all of Herington, Jennifer Makovec and Paul Foster, Regan and Tatum of Salina.
Mike and Angie Stika, Micayla, Alex, Miranda, and Aaron of Burdick, Jason and Shelly Stika, Cody and Dalton of Lincolnville, Ed and Mary Fund Reznicek, Ella and Evan of Goff, Kenneth and Debbie Reznicek, Sarah, Kary, Nicholas, and Nathan of Burlington, Charles and Mary Loewen of Hillsboro, Josie Loewen of Oklahoma City, Okla., Jeremy and Dionne Loewen of Manhattan, John and Lori Torline, Jennifer, Megan, Carolyn, and Matthew of Derby, and Irma and Bob Reznicek. After dinner the adults visited while the children had an Easter egg hunt.
Fred and Marguerite Utech accompanied Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu to Hillsboro where they watched their grandchildren, Jakob and Jorge Hanschu play soccer at Hillsboro Elementary School.
Monty and Sarah Stuchlik visited Easter Sunday evening with their mother, Frances Stuchlik.
Mike and Karen Walsh and daughter, Renee hosted a Sunday Easter dinner. Guests included Ray and Connie Hastings of El Dorado, Mary Helen and Micky Black of Herington, and Larry Rudolph.
Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu went Easter Sunday to Junction City for dinner.
Alex and Jean Stuchlik entertained Kelby and Rita Schawe, Robert and Debbie Burns and family, and Marcel and Mary Jane Steiner, all of Wichita, and Christopher and Melissa Stuchlik and family of Lincolnville for Easter day dinner and evening lunch. In the afternoon the children went Easter egg hunting. When they found the eggs, they hid them and hunted again.
Larry Rudolph helped Jess Brunner of Tampa Thursday and Monday repair fence.
Ramona Beisel of Tampa took off work Monday to help her mother, Frances Stuchlik.
My son, Clark Strecker of Rose Hill was here Monday afternoon. He sprayed my yard and corrals. He pulled his sprayer behind my riding lawn mower. Son Lowell of San Antonio, Texas, called Easter Sunday in the afternoon. He was alone too. His wife, Carla and two nieces went to Mobile, Ala., to spend Easter weekend with her mother. Temperature was in the 90s when he called.
I was alone because Clark and Laura went to Iowa and Omaha, Neb., to spend Easter weekend with her sister, brother, and mother. Douglas was a disciple in the Passion play Friday night and twice Saturday, given by The Father's House church at Hutchinson. Douglas, Marsha, and Matthew went to sunrise services Easter Sunday and Marsha was baptized during Sunday morning services.
Mark and Roberta Stuchlik of Edmund, Okla., visited Friday and Saturday with their mother, Frances Stuchlik.
Frances Stuchlik did not feel well Easter Sunday so she did not go anywhere. She said her children called. Monty is taking her to the doctor this afternoon for a checkup at Newton.
Bill and Dollye Novak and Bob and Dixie Utech of Herington had dinner Easter Sunday at Kingfisher Steakhouse and Lounge at Marion.
