Alex and Jean Stuchlik attended three birthday parties. On Sept. 27, the couple was at the home of Chris and Melissa Stuchlik for grandson Quinton's birthday. They attended Amanda's party Sept. 29 at the home of Gary and JoAnn Stuchlik, then returned to Gary and JoAnn's Oct. 4, to help Zachary celebrate his birthday.

Gary and JoAnn Stuchlik of Pilsen had additional guests at their home to celebrate Derek's birthday. They were Chris and Melissa Stuchlik and family of Tampa, Dianne Ensz and children of Keller, Texas, and Father Hien Nguyen of Marion.

Dianne Ensz and children were guests of Alex and Jean Stuchlik from Oct. 7 through Oct. 10 when they went to visit Tom's parents. Tom and Dianne's children had a fall break from school but Tom could not take time from his work.

Laura Drebot spent the weekend with Clark Strecker and Austin and Tailor of Rose Hill.

Selma Ingram's car wouldn't start Friday morning so Evelyn Strecker took her to work and brought her home after work. Evelyn then went to Herington. Selma drove Evelyn's car to work Monday and Tuesday. Selma hopes her car will be fixed soon.

Carol Makovec visited her mother, Irma Reznicek and brother Bob, Saturday morning.

It was a nice rain — a fourth of an inch. My yard is covered with beautiful colored leaves. Since we may have a frost in the morning, I plan to drain the water hose, cover the water faucet, and bring in fruit and vegetables from the garden.

Douglas Strecker of Hesston came to the Strecker home after work Monday evening to work on a tractor. He also covered the windows of the hen house with plastic and set out a block of salt for the cattle before eating supper.

Jason Stika, Lincolnville, helped Bob Reznicek bring cattle in from pasture Saturday afternoon.

Gregory Stenzel and daughter Nikki, Betty Stenzel, Jon and Christina Ruse of Richardson, Texas, and Mable and Preston Zimmerman, of Wylie, Texas, were Sept. 29 supper guests of Helen Chill of Marion. They celebrated Helen's 80th birthday.
