The Ramona Senior Center will have its monthly potluck dinner at noon Thursday, followed by a social hour. Commodities will be distributed at the center from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday.

Fred and Marguerite Utech hosted a two o'clock dinner Sunday in honor of the birthdays of Jayson Hanschu of Hillsboro and Jennifer Braden of Windom. Other guests were Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu, Jan Hanschu, Jakob and Jorge, Jeff and Joshua Braden, and Neil and Jolene Albrecht and Kallie of Salina. They had cake and ice cream.

Gina, Julie, and Jacob Stuchlik of Abilene visited their grandmother, Frances Stuchlik, Saturday afternoon.

I accompanied Mary Olson of Marion, president of the Marion County Historical Society, to the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church the morning of March 11. Twenty-six officers and guests attended the German food dinner and enjoyed a tour of the church. Several announcements were made. Mrs. Unruh gave the history of the Alexanderwohl church which is built in the Dutch Mennonite style.

Monty and Sarah Stuchlik visited Frances Stuchlik Sunday afternoon.

Larry Rudolph was my Thursday supper guest after he put a large bale of hay in the pasture for my cattle.

Jeff and Jennifer Braden and Joshua spent Sunday night and Monday morning with Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu. Jennifer teaches at Inman and they have spring break this week.

Clark Strecker of Andover and Laura Drebon of Omaha, Neb., were my Sunday dinner guests. They went fishing after dinner until 4 p.m. It seemed warm, but the water still is too cool to catch big fish. They also did some chores for me.

Larry Rudolph visited with Leon Hajek last week while he was in Tampa.

Lowell Strecker of San Antonio, Texas, called me Wednesday to ask what I did on my birthday (March 10). My answer was that I was on the telephone all day with relatives and friends who were wishing me a happy birthday. They are hoping for warmer and drier weather in Texas.

Today is St. Patrick's Day. The wheat fields and lawn look so much greener. Some trees are budding. I heard some people have planted potatoes. My garden still is too wet.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik baby-sat Derek, Amanda, Zachary, Nicholas, and Maria Sunday while their parents, Gary and Jo Ann Stuchlik went to Salina. Alex and Jean attended the Fun Night at the Tampa Senior Center Saturday evening sponsored by the Prairie Pals. After the Fun Night activities, Christopher and Melissa Stuchlik celebrated the birthday of their son, Timothy, at the center with homemade ice cream and cake.

(Last week's news)

Alex and Jean Stuchlik drove to Wichita March 1 to attend the funeral at Margaret Mary Catholic Church of Teresa Burns, mother of their son-in-law Robert Burns. Alex attended the Tampa Cooperative elevator's lunch and meeting Feb. 28 at the senior center.
