I visited Norma Bird Tuesday morning to get tickets for the 42nd annual meeting and dinner of the Marion County Senior Citizens at the Marion Senior Center. Norma and her granddaughter Jenny of Salina and friend Velda McDiffett of Herington left early Friday morning for Colorado Springs where they attended a women's retreat.

The farmers are very busy combining soybeans and milo and there is a lot of wheat yet to be sown. It's time for women to bring in flowers and vegetables from the garden. We've had two frosts. Farmers have started to feed bales of hay to the cattle.

Larry Rudolph checked my electric fence Wednesday. Those deer can really tear up the fences. I had checked them the day before. We usually find some of the insulation off.

Jackie Schlesener of Missouri visited her mother Patricia Zinn from Saturday to Monday evening. Barbara Cook of Langdon and Don and Mary Zinn of Emporia were additional guests .

Selma Ingram baby-sat her two grandchildren, Oaklan and Tia, Monday evening.
