This weekend has been wonderful days of events happening.

My granddaughter Sonja Strecker, Hesston, picked me up Friday evening and we drove to Peabody where we attended the wedding rehearsal of Douglas Strecker and Marsha Jarrell at Peabody United Methodist Church. After the rehearsal all members of the wedding party and families went to Peabody Senior Center for dinner prepared by Marsha's parents, Reign and Marlene Anduss of Ramona. Clark Strecker, Austin and Tailor and Laura Drebot of Hesston took me home and stayed overnight.

Early Saturday morning Clark unloaded his riding lawn mower from his truck. He mowed part of my lawn with his mower and Austin rode my mower and also mowed the lawn. With two mowers, it didn't take long to mow the lawn. Tailor would not be happy if I didn't mention her daddy let her mow some of the lawn.

After breakfast, we got ready and went to Peabody to Peabody UM Church where pictures were taken. The wedding of Douglas Alan Strecker and Marsha Ann Jarrell took place at 2 o'clock followed by a reception at the fellowship hall of the church.

Neil and Jolene Albrecht, Kallie and Morgan of Salina spent from Friday night to Sunday night with Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu. They helped with the harvest of wheat.

Jennifer Braden and Joshua of Windom came Saturday noon and stayed until Sunday night to help her mom, Jeanetta Hanschu, during harvest.

Jayson and Jan Hanschu, Jakob, Jorge, and Jaxxon of Hillsboro came Saturday afternoon to help her folks, Junior and Jeanetta. Junior said they were their harvest crew. But then he said her folks, Fred and Marguerite Utech showed up Friday afternoon. Dad helped him by taking a load of wheat to the elevator.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik attended the wedding Saturday afternoon of a great-niece in Colwich. They attended the wedding dance of Jacob Samour and Ramie (Bina) Samour Saturday night at Pilsen Community Center.

Leona Deines said all they have been doing the past week is harvesting. She has been cooking dinners for six men, Mervin her husband, sons Jeff and Terry, grandsons Justin and Adam Coup of Hope, and Jim Weber, the truck driver. She said some wheat is good and some isn't. They haven't had any trouble like getting stuck as some farmers have.

Jeff Scharping, Bobbie and Andy and a friend, Franklin of Wichita came Friday night to grandma Frances Stuchlik's place and set up camp in the pasture. Next day they mowed her lawn, cut down weeds, and then ate dinner with her. The boys had a lot of fun walking in the creek and catching frogs. That reminds me when after a rain, we six girls would tuck in our dresses and walk in the creek. I still have one brother. He would roll up his pants legs. We had a lot of fun splashing water at each other.

John Reznicek and Bob Makovec helped Bob Reznicek with harvest this past week.

Kenny Stuchlik of Towanda helped his brother, Monty Stuchlik Sunday with farm work. He ate supper with his mom, Frances Stuchlik. He clipped Frances' dog's fur. The dog had all kinds of weed seeds in his fur.

I was informed that Eva Miller was taken to St. Francis Hospital at Wichita. She will be put on dialysis.

Alex and Jean Stuchlik attended the farewell for Father Steve Gronert at St. Mark's Activity Center, Marion. Bob and Irma Reznicek also attended. All four parishes — Florence, Tampa, Marion, and Pilsen were in charge of the event.

Bob Reznicek went to the wedding dance in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Samour Saturday night at Pilsen Community Center.

Larry Rudolph visited me Friday morning. He was getting his combine ready to harvest barley and wheat. He had been putting up his hay. He brought my bales Tuesday from the alfalfa field to a lot near the yard.

Leona Hajek said they were through harvesting their wheat. Junior Hanschu reported he had just a little to finish today (Monday).

Heidi Lee and her three sons moved into a trailer home at Lost Springs.

Madeline Saccone of Walpole Mass., and Margaret Kerns of Washington, D.C., stopped in June 19 to visit Irma Reznicek. They were on their way to Marshall County to visit some of their mother's relatives.

Angie Stika and her children, Macayla, Alex, Miranda, and Aaron of Lincolnville visited Saturday afternoon with Bob and Irma Reznicek.

Larry Rudolph visited his sister, Mary Helen Black Thursday afternoon at Herington.
