Lost Springs: Women make plans to attend meeting

Norma Bird, Marlene Anduss, Darlene Sondergard, and Evelyn Strecker met Sunday to make plans for the Marion County Department for Elderly board meeting and dinner to be held Friday at the Ramona Senior Center.
I was so sorry to hear that Leona Deines' father, Herman Warns, died Thursday. He was 101 and a resident of the Lutheran Nursing Home for several years. His funeral was Saturday morning with interment at the Hope City Cemetery.
Alex and Jean Stuchlik baby-sat Gary and Jo Ann Stuchlik's children, Derek, Amanda, Nicholas, Zachary, and Maria from April 8 to 11. Gary and Jo Ann are the parents of another child, a girl, Abigail Rose, born April 9.
The funeral of Gerald Clements, 66, was held in Salina Thursday morning with graveside services at the Lost Springs Cemetery. The Clements family lived in Lost Springs in the 1950s. Survivors are a son and two daughters.
Irma Benda of Lincolnville visited Evelyn Strecker Thursday afternoon.
The Ramona Senior Center will have their monthly potluck dinner at noon Thursday.
Douglas Strecker was my Saturday dinner and supper guest. He tilled my garden in the morning and disked some ground for milo in the afternoon. Additional supper guests were Clark Strecker and Austin and Laura Diebon of Andover. Clark and Austin mowed my lawn while Laura did the weed eating and helped me plant some of the garden. They also trimmed my bushes. They stayed overnight and were my Sunday dinner guests.
Farmers are busy working the ground and some are planting corn. Tulips and forsythia are so pretty.
Becky Jackson, Nikki Stenzel, and Gregory Stenzel drove to Junction City Sunday for supper.
Mildred Hajek told me her grandson Darren Hajek, an auto body technician at Salina, called her and told her he ranked 10th in the state in a test he toook in Wichita. He is attending Salina Technical School and will graduate this May.
Tom Reznicek of Baldwin City spent all day Saturday helping his brother Bob with field work.
Carol Makovec picked up her mother, Irma Reznicek, Friday and they went to the Pilsen church for Mass and stations.
Ronnie Hajek, a fireman, said he has been busy putting out fires. He put out a fire for Jennifer Staatz in Lost Springs. She bought a car and when she got home, the car was smoking and caught fire. Ronnie also has put out grass fires.
