Louise Henricks
Louise A. Henricks, 84, died July 15, 2006, at Newman Regional Health, Emporia.
Born Feb. 1, 1922, at Florence, she was the daughter of Fred Lee and Gladys Lucille (McCully) Adams.
She married Dennis E. Henricks on March 15, 1943, at Florence. He died March 11, 1964, at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Mrs. Henricks worked as a secretary at Florence High School, as a court reporter, and as clerk of the Lyon County District Court, Emporia.
She later worked in financial aid offices of Kansas State Teacher's College, Emporia, and Kansas State University, Manhattan.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Emporia. She also was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, American Association of Retired Persons, American Legion Auxiliary, and Riley County Genealogy Society. She was a former member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority of Emporia, the American Red Cross chapter of Manhattan and was active with blood drives.
A memorial will be at 11 a.m. July 21, at Robert-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. The service will be conducted by Pastor Claudia Bakeley of First United Methodist Church.
Private inurnment services will be later at the Florence Cemetery, Florence.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Terry Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
