Love Florence campaign continues
Mark Moore, pastor of Florence United Methodist Church, has instituted a movement which he calls the "Love Florence" campaign, in an effort to bring the townspeople together in a spirit of tolerance and community.
After an initial meeting May 19, another town prayer meeting will be held tonight, Wednesday, in Florence. It will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Florence Christian Church.
The weekly meetings are expected to continue for the foreseeable future. Next Wednesday, townspeople will gather at St. Patrick's Catholic Church to pray for blessings on the community.
Moore said he has received a favorable response to his initiative, and he expects the movement to grow and produce positive results.
