Mabel Tiemeier

Mabel (Mrs. Edgar) Tiemeier, 93, retired Lincolnville business owner, died April 26, 2002, at Omaha, Neb.

Ethel Mabel Tiemeier was born April 2, 1909, in Marion County, the daughter of George and Lela Rose Holmes. She and Edgar Tiemeier were married Aug. 20, 1930, at Lincolnville and lived most of their lives there.

She and her late husband owned an operated the Tiemeier grocery and general merchandise store at Lincolnville for several decades.

She started working at the Tiemeier store while in Lincolnville High School and before she and her late husband ever dated. He died in 1984. Her association with the store continued through 1998.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Lincolnville.

Services were held Wednesday at graveside in Lincolnville Cemetery. Pastor Alan Stahlecker officiated.

Survivors include daughters, Jeanine Geiler, Omaha, Neb., and Nadine Creek, Wichita; sons, Wayne Tiemeier of Kansas City and Neil Tiemeier of Denver, Colo.; sisters, Cornelia "Toady" Nelson of Herington and Letha Ard of Corona, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established at the church.
