Main Street to get new retail business
DuWayne and Jodi Suffield, owners of Suffield Heating, Cooling and Plumbing, Marion, have purchased the former Marion Hardware store building in downtown Marion.
They bought it from Tom and Lori Koslowsky of Hillsboro.
"After 13 years in business, we needed to expand," Suffield said.
They have been operating out of the rear of an adjacent store on the 300 block of East Main.
The purchase gives the Suffields 3,900 sq. ft. of retail space. They plan to stock the store with appliances, plumbing and electrical supplies including light fixtures and vanities, and light hardware.
The rear of the store will house supplies for their service work..
Suffield said they intend to consolidate service and retail into one business known simply as "Suffield's."
The couple has two children which help in the business. They employ two full-time workers. Jodi works as secretary and bookkeeper.
They are hoping to open the retail store for business in May.
