Many enjoy Father's Day gatherings at Lost Springs

As I was standing by my mailbox a week ago, mailing letters, a number of men rode by on bicycles. Some called out, "Good morning, young lady." At the age of 88, that built up my spirits. I waved back.
Betty Stroda of Herington, Irma Reznicek, and Dora Holub accompanied Ruby Holub of Marion to Newton last week. They ate at the Red Coach Inn in celebration of their birthdays.
Jayson and Jan Hanschu and Jakob brought Jorge to his grandparents, Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu, Saturday night. The grandparents took him home Sunday afternoon.
Irma Reznicek accompanied Bob and Carol Makovec to Burdick Friday night to watch Shelby Makovec and Macayla Stika play T-ball against Herington.
Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu picked up Fred and Marguerite Utech Monday night and they went to Hillsboro to watch Jakob Hanschu play T-ball.
Bob Reznicek attended Christopher Stuchlik's birthday party Saturday night at Chris' home.
Bill Stuchlik of Rogers, Ark., an engineer with a commercial company that sells big machines to scrub and polish floors, spent from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon with his mother, Frances Stuchlik. Bill made calls at stores in Kansas City and Wellington.
Reports that wheat has moisture content from 14 to 16. Tests are good. The Ramona elevator is to open on Tuesday.
Larry Rudolph attended the Ramona Senior Center dinner Thursday noon. He didn't stay for Bingo as he had to combine his barley in the afternoon. He said there were 19 at the dinner.
Bob and Carol Makovec picked up Irma Reznicek Sunday afternoon and they went to Marion Reservoir where John and Helen Reznicek were hosting a cook-out. Others who attended were Charles and Mary Loewen of Hillsboro, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Cooper of Galva, and John and Lori Torline, Matthew, Jennifer, Megan, and Carolyn of Derby. The Torline girls had spent a few days camping at the reservoir with the John Rezniceks.
I drove to Marion Friday evening and attended the Marion County Historical Society dinner at Eastmoor United Methodist Church. An executive board held a meeting afterward and elected officers.
Larry and Susan Stuchlik of Lehigh, Bill Stuchlik, and Frances Stuchlik were Friday night guests of Monty and Sarah Stuchlik.
Douglas Strecker was here Saturday afternoon. He mowed my yard and ate supper with me. He said he was picking some cucumbers in his garden. I sent some yellow squash from my garden with him.
Larry Rudolph visited Mike and Karen Walsh and Renee Sunday evening. Micky Black of Herington was his guest Friday night and Saturday morning.
