Many from Tampa attend Vinduska services

Many Tampa people attended funeral services for Lou Vinduska Monday morning at the Catholic church in Pilsen. His family has the sincere sympathy of the Tampa community.

Cassie Clemmer, a junior at Salina South High School and granddaughter of Jim and Mary Clemmer, competed Saturday at the state weightlifting meet in Winfield. She took second in hand clean, third in squat, and fourth in bench press.

Guests of Frank and Anna Mae Stika for a barbecue Sunday were Tom and Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki and Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna. The occasion was a belated celebration of the Moldenhauers' and Hanschus' wedding anniversaries.

Adeline Bernhardt visited Milda Krauter at Marion Manor in Marion Sunday afternoon.

Jerry and Jeanne Rziha, Cecilia and Julie went to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Convent in Wichita Saturday evening for a dinner in honor of Sister Mary Cora, nee Susan Rziha, who recently became a novice in the order. Also present were Wayne and Shannon Rziha and Cecilia Marie of Tulsa, Okla., Janie Rziha and John and Jeanne Rziha, Michael, Christopher, Joseph, and Timothy of Atchison, Jim and Diane Herron, Andrew and Peter of Wichita, and David Rziha of Lawrence.

Ted and Maxine Zielinski of Omaha, Neb., were weekend guests of Jim and Kris Srajer, Grant and Cole.

Ethan and Logan Oborny spent Saturday with John and Kathy Oborny and Diane Steiner.

Leona Kleiber and Adeline Bernhardt attended the memorial service for Laurel Ehrhardt in Ramona Saturday morning and joined other relatives for dinner at the parish hall after the service. The Tampa community extends sympathy to the family.

Tom and Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki enjoyed supper in McPherson Saturday evening in celebration of their wedding anniversary.

Kaylee Hall of Herington was a Friday overnight and Saturday guest of her grandparents, Tom and Dee Duggan.

Wayne Schwartzman of Wichita spent March 24 through 29 with his mother, Helen Schwartzman.

Anna Mae Stika and Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki attended the memorial service for Laurel Ehrhardt at Ramona Saturday.

Georgia Spohn met her cousin, Lenora Graham of Florence, in Hillsboro Thursday. They attended the Learning in Retirement program at Tabor College and enjoyed lunch together. The program was brought by Robert and Janet Taylor of Tulsa, Okla., impersonating Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln. Georgia visited Marguerite Goertz Saturday in Hillsboro.

Tom and Dee Duggan spent March 25 and 26, in Lee's Summit, Mo., visiting Darla Hall and Adam. They watched Adam's soccer practice on Tuesday and attended a geography bee at Hawthorn Hill Elementary School on Thursday. The competition was for fourth through sixth grade students and Adam was one of the participants.

Adeline Bernhardt and Leona Kleiber enjoyed dinner in Salina March 26.

Gary and Carole Spohn and Georgia Spohn went to Newton March 26 for dinner.

Leona Kleiber, Adeline Bernhardt, Tillie Hein, Edna Mueller, and Martha Melcher were among the Tampa people attending the Tri-County Telephone meeting in Herington March 24. Adeline was a lucky prize winner.

Prairie Pals met at Monica Leihy's home the evening of March 24. Members brought craft materials and all made Easter bunnies. Mary Clemmer assisted Monica as hostess. Others present were Virginia Bentz, Michele Berens, Iona Dietrich, Laveta Meyer, Lori Meyer, Jeanne Rziha, Melissa Stuchlik, and Jane Vajnar.

A team of 10 Centre students participated in a Future Farmers of America contest at Great Bend March 24. The team placed first in the district agricultural sales contest, second in the invitational agricultural business management contest, and third in the district agricultural business management contest. All individual students placed in one or more events. Judging in the ag business contests was based on a written test, while the ag sales contests were judged on a sales presentation and an oral test. In the invitational ag business management contest, Cecilia Rziha placed first and Andrea Carlson fourth. Andrea placed third and Derek Belton seventh in the district ag business contest. In the invitational ag sales competition Laura Klenda placed first, Aaron Barney sixth and Josh Spooner 10th. Kristin Mueller placed first in the district ag sales contest with Shaina Makovec taking fourth and Derek Belton eighth.

Tillie Hein and Martha Melcher were among the Tampa people attending a soup dinner March 23 at the Catholic church in Elmo.
