Marcella Ducummon
Marcella F. Ducummon, 80, formerly of Tampa, died Feb. 22, 2002, at Mercy Hospital, Independence.
Born July 12, 1921, at Tampa, she was the daughter of Elzey and Winona (Hackler) Smith. She had resided at Independence for the past 18 months.
A 1939 graduate of Tampa High School, she married C.C. "Duke" Ducummon June 28, 1952, at Gallup, N.M. They moved to Caney in 1957, he died Jan. 7, 1980.
She faithfully served the Caney Meals on Wheels program for more than 20 years. She also was a member of First Christian Church, Caney, and was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include three daughters, Terasa Hodges of Independence, Sandra Bristol and Joyce Boehm of Robstown, Texas; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday afternoon at Graves Memorial Chapel, Caney.
