Margaret Jones

Margaret Cecelia Lalouette Jones died Jan. 31, 2002, at St. Luke Living Center.

She was born Sept. 5, 1914, on the family homestead northeast of Florence to Leon and Anna Margaret (Carpenter) Lalouette.

She attended rural School District 34 and Cedar Point High School through the ninth grade. At age 20 she moved to San Diego, Calif. She was a welder at Rohr Aircraft during World War II.

On March 1, 1945, she married Boyd E. Jones at San Diego. The couple had two children, Beulah Florence and James Leon.

She was a homemaker and worked in sales. In April 1996, she moved back to Florence. She suffered a stroke and spent the rest of her life at St. Luke Living Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, daughter, and brother.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Donna Ebert; sister, Mary C. Grimmett, nephew, George Grimmett, and niece, Ann Brenzikofer, all of Florence; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Monday morning at Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence, with Father Steve Gronert of Holy Family Parish officiating.

A memorial was established with St. Luke Living Center.
