Marguerite Swan

Marguerite Edna Swan, 94, died Jan. 24, 2004.

Born Oct. 8, 1909, at Wichita, she was the daughter of Jessie and Dora Catherine (Johns) Woodring.

On April 8, 1930, she married Clinton Raleigh Swan. He died in 1957.

She was a resident of Wichita until she moved to Marion in 1967. She was a member of Strassburg Baptist Church.

She also was preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel and Marie Woodring and Ethel Mae Hollingworth; and two brothers, Harold and Howard Woodring.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley Ann and Donald Steppe of Overland Park and Kay and Leland Heidebrecht of Marion; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Kathy Swan of Marion; a sister, Helen Catherine Johns of Long Beach, Calif., and Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Strassburg Baptist Church, rural Marion, with the Rev. Don Mashburn officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Cemetery, Wichita.

A memorial fund has been established with the church building fund.
