Marion Manor: Past two weeks busy for residents

Again, it has been really busy here at the Manor. On July 20 we had ice cream sundaes in the dining room for "Sundae Sunday." On July 27, residents gathered in the front room after church services for a Bugs Bunny film fest.

On the Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays of both weeks, many residents enjoyed Bingo in the dining room. Bill Schimpf calls Bingo on Friday afternoons.

We had a "mutt" party in the dining room on Friday. We played "Musical Pup," did crossword puzzles, drank lemonade, and had a really good time.

As we posted the new calendar for August, residents wondered where the month of July had gone. Most residents agree that when you get older, time seems to pass quicker.

Late Bingo was not held this Friday as the Manor sponsored a team of walkers for the Relay for Life. This year's event was held at the Tabor track in Hillsboro. Three team members showed up to walk — Rosalie, Wanda, and myself. The evening was cool, making the walk much more enjoyable. Due to threatening weather, the walk was called off at about 3 a.m.

Ralph Noriega sang for the residents Saturday. He always is a favorite.

It doesn't seem like it, but the Marion County Fair is this week. We are making plans to attend the parade and some of the other events. See you at the fair!
