Marion Manor: Residents stay active

The merry month of May has ended with a few more special events. The monthly birthday party, sponsored by the Youngtown FCE, was held May 21. Residents celebrating May birthdays were Linel Frick, Marajo Mayes, and Karl Vanek.
One of our most popular guests for our Saturday Surprise came by on May 25. Peggy Barrett of Elmdale brought her two trained border collies and three bantam chickens. It was a marvelous morning, when sometimes aloof residents smiled as they patted a dog or let a chicken eat grain from the palm of their hands!
Lisa Donahue provided an ice ream social for the residents Memorial Day afternoon, with assorted flavors and toppings.
Ralph Noriega brought his mellow music the evening of May 28. He encouraged us to sing along with him, then declared we were good enough to go on tour!
We invite everyone to the community meeting at 6:30 p.m. June 18. Entertainment will be provided by Elizabeth Bell, pianist. "Long term care insurance — should I?" will be addressed by John Wood and Sherry Myers. Please RSVP to Kara Bell, executive director at Marion Manor, 382-2191.
