Marion Manor: Seniors experience crazy, fun week

Sometimes you just have to have fun! This week we have been celebrating National Activities Professionals week. We really had no theme, just intentions of having fun. We celebrated being Americans Monday by wearing red, white, and blue. Hats off day was Tuesday where the staff and residents wore their favorite hats. Many wore pajamas to work Wednesday for a relaxing day. If you came into the building Thursday our "national clash day" outfits would have amused you. The object for the day was to be as mismatched as could be. Our regular blue jean day is Friday, so we added bandannas to that making it blue jeans and bandannas day.

We held our regular activities as well. Volunteer Bill Schimpf called bingo this week. Dick Pracht held Bible study, Pat Smith prettied-up everyone's fingernails, and Marie Navrat recite the rosary with Catholic residents. Our favorite musical entertainers this week were Misti Richmond and Anita Hancock's second grade class who gave one of their mini concerts Friday.

A big thanks to the men of the community who joined the men for coffee. Our next scheduled Men's Coffee Club will be at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 9. Any men in the community are welcome.

We are starting to decorate sacks that will hold the Heart Sack lunches. See our ad in this issue of Marion County Record for details on how to order your lunches.
