Marion Marble and Granite loses two
Marion Marble & Granite girls' team took on Webster Auto Service June 16 but could not secure a victory.
Chelsea Voth pitched two innings and Mattie Hiebert and JayDee Schafers helped out later in the game. Schafers also spent three innings behind home plate. Elizabeth Goentzel was catcher for two innings.
Erin Meierhoff scored the lone point for Marion Marble in the first inning.
In second inning, Meierhoff, Balee Shiplet, Cara Martin, Schafers, and Emily Cyr got on the board.
The third inning was scoreless for the girls but Martin put the seventh point on the scoreboard in the fourth inning.
Despite their valiant effort, the girls lost 7-11.
They traveled Friday to Hillsboro where their luck wasn't much better, losing 1-7.
Voth pitched three innings, Danae Bina pitched two, and Goentzel was behind home plate for five.
Bina was the solitary point in the first inning.
