Marion Police officers chase dogs, conduct investigations
Marion Police Officers had a varied week of dogs running at-large and investigating numerous cases.
Aug. 14: A dog was picked up for running at-large. An investigation continues regarding suspicious activity at Central Park. A vandalism report was filed.
Aug 15: A warning was issued for speeding. Subjects met with an officer regarding retrieving a vehicle from impoundment.
Aug. 16: An emergency message was delivered. Charges are pending regarding a battery case. A theft was reported in the 1500 block of East Lawrence Street; interviews were conducted. City crews received assistance with a water leak. An owner of a dog in the 300 block of South Lincoln Street was issued a warning after a dog was reported at-large but was returned to the pen when an officer arrived.
Thursday: An ambulance crew received assistance on a run. A civil standby was provided. A stranded motorist received assistance in obtaining fuel.
Friday: A subject was arrested for DUI. A citation was issued for exhibition of speed. A subject met with an officer regarding a driving complaint.
Saturday: Assistance was provided to an ambulance crew with a run. A warning for no driver's license on person was issued. Response was given to a complaint of a dog running at-large in the 200 block of East Main Street. A dog running at-large in the 100 block of South Roosevelt Street was picked up and taken to Animal Health Center.
Sunday: An officer provided assistance to an ambulance crew on a run. A subject met with an officer regarding their dog getting loose in the 100 block of North Roosevelt Street.
Officers drove 951 miles, and issued one citation, two warning citations, and made one arrest.
