Marion Reservoir to receive $3 million in federal funds
Marion Reservoir will receive $3 million for operations and maintenance for 2004 from the Energy and Water Appropriations Bill. U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts announced the funding last week.
Marion Reservoir is among more than a dozen lakes in Kansas that will receive funding through the bill. The Senate passed the bill, which will go to a conference committee to iron out differences between the House and Senate.
After operations and maintenance costs are taken out, remaining funds from the $3 million will be used to improve and upgrade existing recreation facilities.
Marion Reservoir was awarded the largest allocation of funds in Kansas.
