Marion: Resident reports stalker

Marion Police Department investigated a report of a stalker and prowler on Saturday. Evidence was collected and the investigation continues.

Aug. 28: An individual was arrested and booked in Marion County Jail after an officer responded to report of a battery. Two dogs were picked up for running at-large. Marion County Sheriff Deputies received assistance with a problem at the county jail. An officer met with SRS regarding an ongoing investigation.

Aug. 29: An outside agency received assistance with an investigation in locating subjects in town. A subject met with an officer regarding a civil matter. An ambulance crew received assistance with a run.

Aug. 30: Assistance was provided to an outside agency with an ongoing investigation. Suspicious activity was reported. An open business door was located and checked in the 100 block of West Main Street; everything was OK. A non-injury accident involving a gas meter was investigated. A warning was issued for illegal truck parking in a residential area.

Aug. 31: A complaint was filed regarding a nuisance property. An officer checked a complaint of illegal tags; everything was OK on vehicle. A lost motorist received assistance.

Sept. 1: A domestic dispute was investigated in the 600 block of South Lincoln Street; the individual was gone when officers arrived; charges are pending.

Sept. 2: A subject was interviewed regarding a case from the previous day. An officer met with individuals regarding a vehicle following their children when they were walking. An investigation was made of items in Central Park being displaced by pranksters. Peabody Police Department received assistance with a call that involved a fight between eight individuals.

Sept. 3: A dog running at-large was picked up. An individual met with an officer regarding a harassment complaint. Warnings were issued for improper passing and speeding. City crews were notified of a water leak that was located during routine patrol. A dog barking complaint was filed in the area of Denver and Freeborn streets.

Sept. 4: Traffic control was provided for Marion Fire Department on a run. Two citations were issued for dogs running at-large; the animals were picked up. An ambulance crew received assistance with a run.

Sept. 5: A local business received assistance with traffic control to unload inventory. A dog was picked up for running at-large in the area of Hudson and Cedar streets. A complaint of a dog barking in the 1100 block of Denver was checked.

Sept. 6: Civil papers were served. A problem was located at a business; the owner was notified to fix it. A sheriff's deputy received assistance with traffic control for a vehicle fire.

Thursday: An open business door was located; the building was checked and owner notified; everything was OK. An officer met with an individual regarding an aggressive dog issue. Subjects were located in town for interviews by an outside agency. A harassment complaint was filed.

Friday: A non-injury, hit and run accident was investigated at Warrior Stadium. A civil stand-by was provided. An officer met with individuals regarding a complaint of improper care of dogs. A dog running at-large was picked up. A garage break-in was investigated in the 300 block of Garfield Street.

Saturday: A citation was issued for a dog running at-large and no license. A business owner met with an officer regarding a vehicle parked on the business property.
