Marjorie Rech
Marjorie M. Rech, 87, Woodbine, died Feb. 2, 2003, at Salina Regional Health Center.
Born June 19, 1915, at Woodbine, she was the daughter of Ora O. and Agnes E. (Westrup) Kohler.
Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, at Woodbine United Methodist Church with Pastor Marilyn Cox officiating, assisted by Bill Sexton. Burial was at the Woodbine Cemetery.
Mrs. Rech owned and operated the Kohler Lumber Company in Woodbine until 1964, then until 1994 worked as bookkeeper, when she retired. She was a member of Woodbine United Methodist Church, the Woodbine Study Club, and enjoyed bowling while her health permitted. She lived in Woodbine until June 1999 when she moved to a care home in Abilene. She graduated from Woodbine High School with the class of 1933, and then completed her certificate from Wichita Business College in bookkeeping.
She married H. Allen Rech Dec. 5, 1936, in Wichita. He died Aug. 21, 1963.
Survivors include two daughters, D'Anne Gugler and husband Clyde of rural Chapman and Lynette Eddy and husband Robert Wayne of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the church.
