Mary Steiner named to insurance board

Mary Steiner, Lincolnville, administrator of Herington Municipal Hospital, recently was appointed to the hospital advisory committee of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas.

She was appointed to a two-year term by the board of directors.

The advisory committee is comprised of 15 hospital administrators who advise the insurance company on issues relevant to their areas of expertise.

Steiner has had a 32-year career at Herington Municipal Hospital and served as staff nurse and in various management positions.

For the past four years she has served as hospital administrator.

She earned a nursing degree from Wichita State University and is a member of Kansas Hospital Association and serves with an administrative group.

She also sits on the board of directors for the Sunflower Health Network, and the workers' compensation board for Kansas Health Service Corporation.

She and her husband, Dennis, live on a farm west of Lincolnville and have a daughter.
