Mass destruction weapons found

I've just discovered those instruments of mass destruction. Their names are Frances, Ivan, and Jeanne. Poor Florida and Alabama. They got the first and worst blows.

When this is printed, the arts and crafts show in the park will be over. I'm sure it was a great success. Now, our traditional Old Settlers' Day is coming up. I see by the paper that a lot of school classes are planning to celebrate, so I know it will be a success too. What a great idea that is.

I've been interested in Marion High School since 1922, the year of my graduation. If I tried to organize a class reunion I would probably be the only one there. I do have a classmate, Bernice Siebert Corley. She lives way down in Arizona and won't travel.

I've been reading some. I read "Shall We Tell the President," by Archer. It is a mystery story built around the White House. Pretty good. Another book that I kept putting off because it was thick and might be boring was "Madam Secretary," by Madeline Albright. I found it very interesting. She writes well and I believe truthfully with a great sense of humor. I learned a lot about politics and the workings of the government in foreign relations. After reading her book I felt like I would enjoy knowing her personally. She seemed like one of those "down to earth" people.

More holidays coming up — Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas — so get ready.
