Massage clinic adds therapists

Several new massage therapists have joined the practice of Carolan McFarland.

Janet Herzet, Ed Summers, and Carol Wituk all took a massage course this past semester at Butler County Community College. They are continuing their studies this semester but have enough skills to begin practice.

Herzet is a registered nurse and director of Marion County Home Care Services. She became interested in massage as a client of McFarland.

"I'm hooked," she said. "Even though my job keeps me busy, this was a great opportunity to continue."

Summers has worked as a restorative aide at St. Luke Living Center and at Marion Manor.

"I never heard of massage therapy in school, but now I want to make this my career," he said.

Wituk heard about the course from Summers.

"I didn't know what it was really all about," she said. "Ed said Carolan would be an excellent teacher."

McFarland is in the office three days a week. Cheri Ouellette, who has been at the massage therapy clinic for a year, works one day a week.

Each person's schedule varies. Appointments may be made by calling the clinic at 382-2998.
