Matthew Grogan
Matthew Riley Grogan, 21, of Ellis died Nov. 8, 2003, as a result of a car accident.
Born Oct. 31, 1982, in Marion, he was the son of Michael R. and Jacqueline L. (Plummer) Grogan.
A 2001 graduate of TMP-Marian High School, he was employed by Heartland Building Center as a delivery driver.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ellis, a participant in CYO, Boy Scouts, basketball and football at TMP, and played baseball for the Ellis Baseball Club.
He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Ruth Plummer, and a grandfather, Gene Grogan.
Survivors include his parents, Michael and Jacqueline Grogan of Ellis; two brothers, Kevin and Ryan, both of Ellis; grandparents, Jack and Joyce Plummer of Winfield, grandmother Evelyn Grogan of Winfield; and a great-great aunt, Emma Klenda of Pilsen.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis with Father Larry Letourneau and Father Kevin Weber officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Church Cemetery.
The rosary was recited Monday evening at the church.
Memorial funds have been established with St. Mary's School or the Humane Society of the High Plains.
