McLinden, Rhodes named students of the month
Tomi McLinden and Matt Rhodes have been named students of the month by the Marion High School faculty.
Tomi is the daughter of Tom and Audrey McLinden of Marion. She has two sisters, Ann and Amanda.
At MHS Tomi has been involved in basketball and track three years, volleyball and FFA two years, and cheerleading, Student Council, cross country, and the school musical one year. She has been a leader on the school dance team for two years.
She has participated in Girls' State, served as a page in the Kansas Legislature two years, and attended the National FFA Convention in Kentucky. She teaches sign language, works in housekeeping at Marion Manor, and has been involved in Girl Scouts. She is a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Matt is the son of Bruce and Brenda Rhodes of Marion. He has one sister, Molly.
Matt has been involved in football, band, jazz band, and weightlifting four years; basketball and National Honor Society three years; choir, baseball, and musical orchestra two years; and track, Student Council, and MHS Singers one year.
He is a member of Eastmoor United Methodist Church and the senior high youth group. Matt works as a lifeguard at Marion City Pool and teaches swimming lessons to young children.
