McPherson Harvest House group visits Pilsen

The McPherson Harvest House group were visitors in Pilsen on Friday. They came to view our newly redecorated church. Father Paul Oborny accompanied the group and offered Mass along with Father Gronert and Father Chris from Council Grove as co-celebrants. Coffee and rolls were furnished by the Marion County Harvest House. The group enjoyed a potluck dinner after Mass.
OOPS! I missed the Nowak's news last week. Elijah, Allie, and Luke Frasher were Saturday and Sunday guests of their grandparents, Joe and JoAnn Nowak. Sunday afternoon visitors of Joe and JoAnn included Judy and Kevin Steinborn and daughters and Jennifer and Tim Frasher of Wichita.
Now that takes care of that.
Magdalen Dvorak and Amelia Vinduska played Bingo Friday afternoon with the residents at St. Luke Living Center.
Magdalen Dvorak spent from Friday until Sunday evening in Newton with Tom and Janel Dvorak. Magdalen baked cookies with the residents of St. Luke Living Center Monday morning. John and Carol Dvorak of Marion and Derrick and Rachel Dvorak of Salina visited Magdalen Monday afternoon.
Melissa Stuchlik visited with her parents, Terry and Cindy Vinduska Sunday afternoon.
Shane Svitak and Jennifer Schmidt were Thursday evening supper guests of Randy and Kathy Svitak. Kathy attended the executive board meeting of the Marion Extension Council in Hillsboro Tuesday evening.
The Tampa Knights of Columbus breakfast was well attended Sunday. Several of the people I call on for their news said they attended.
Bill and Marlise Oborny of Marysville were Wednesday evening supper guests of George and Kathleen Oborny. Bill and Marlise were on their way home after spending some time in Lawton, Okla.
Stephanie Loney and a friend, Mel Stallbaumer, of Wichita attended Mass in Pilsen Sunday, then we attended the Knights of Columbus breakfast in Tampa.
Sylvia Bezdek visited with Dan and Marcia Falen Sunday afternoon.
Jim, Rosalie, and Wendy Rudolph attended the Centre vs. Hope football game at Centre Friday night.
Yvonne, Chelsie, and Arika Schroeder of Newton spent Saturday with Lloyd and Carole Sklenar. Darla Kasper and Kevin Searl visited the Sklenars Sunday morning.
Teresa Hill met her mother, Hazel Clothier, in Florence Monday and they made a trip to Newton. They made a business trip to Wichita on Tuesday. Heath and Cassidy Hill had soccer games in Herington Tuesday evening. The Hill family attended Nellie's volleyball game at Centre Thursday evening. Nellie and Cassidy participated in the Octoberfest parade in Lincolnville Saturday. Nellie marched with the Centre band and Cassidy with the Centre soccer team. The Hill family drove to McPherson Sunday afternoon and Heath participated in a soccer game vs. a McPherson team that night. He had a soccer game in Herington Monday night.
Edmund and Mary Lou Kroupa visited with Irene Novak at the Hillsboro Care Home and with Theo Kroupa at Marion Manor.
Millie Vinduska and her grandson enjoyed Saturday together. They attended the Octoberfest part of the day.
Carolyn and Don Meerian of Overbrook and Margaret Vinduska participated in the Central Kansas Quilt Shop Hop Friday.
Visiting with Amelia Vinduska during the week were Terry Klenda, Margaret Vinduska, Millie Vinduska, Kathy Silhan, Margie Stroda, and Emily Staatz. Bonnie Vinduska came Wednesday and picked Amelia up and they attended Mass at Marion Manor. Later in the morning, Bonnie took Amelia to Hillsboro for a doctor's appointment. Millie Vinduska and Amelia were among those attending the Harvest House gathering in Pilsen on Friday. Margie and Arthur Stroda visited Amelia after Mass Sunday.
Bernard and Pauline Meysing were Sunday dinner and afternoon guests of Paul and Alice Meysing.
Irma and Bob Reznicek, Ruby Holub, and Angie Vinduska (sorry Angie I couldn't find anyone home at the Don Vinduska's to get your married name, but the readers will know who I mean) enjoyed Sunday dinner together at Butch's Café. The afternoon was spent visiting at the Reznicek home.
Charlene and George Svitak visited their son, Doug, Tuesday evening.
Pat and Dean Bina enjoyed the German food buffet in Durham Friday evening.
Joe and JoAnn Nowak drove to Wichita Friday to the Frasher home. They went especially to help Eli celebrate his 4th birthday. They were overnight guests of the Frasher family. Saturday morning Joe and JoAnn attended the Wichita Wolverines football game. Their grandson, Jim Nowak, is a member of the team.
Joe and JoAnn Nowak, Gene and Vernie Konecny, Bob and Karen Konarik, Marie Konarik, Stanley Konarik and Martha Melcher were among those that attended the diocesan wedding celebration at the Cathedral in Wichita. Joe and JoAnn were gift bearers for the Mass. Congratulations on the honor of being asked to participate. A reception followed.
Emma Klenda, Charlene Svitak, Irma Benda, Bob and Karen Konarik and Terry, Kathy, and Fred Silhan called on Maxine Svitak during the week.
The Gail Makovec family left after school Tuesday and drove to Oklahoma to attend Simon's graduation from Advanced Training (AIT). They returned home Wednesday. The Makovec family attended the Centre vs. Hope football game at Centre Friday. Gail and Simon Makovec and Tyler Diepenbrock drove to Wichita Sunday to attend the car races.
LaVada Holub visited at the Ron McGlachlin home in Newton Sunday. Ryan Paul Barden and Matthew Jay Eldridge came home with Great- grandma LaVada to spend a few days.
Bob and Karen Konarik participated in the Octoberfest parade in Lincolnville with the Flint Hills Muzzle Loaders. Bob and Karen, Martha Melcher, and Stanley Konarik visited Tuesday afternoon with Helen Soukup in Abilene. Father Mattas was an additional guest. The afternoon was spent playing cards.
Lloyd Sklenar visited at the Joe Sklenar home on Friday. He went especially to wish Joe a "happy birthday."
