Mead, Summervill are wed

Kay Lynn Summervill and Nathan Mead, both of Manhattan, were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. June 7, 2003, in an outdoor setting at the country home of the bride's parents.

The Rev. Dan Rhodes of Dodge City officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mick and Marge Summervill of Marion. Allen and Sandy Mead of Kismet are parents of the groom.

Honored guests at the wedding were the bride's grandmother Millie Summervill of Marion and the groom's grandparents Spud and Beth Whitman of Paradise and Mary Mead of Russell.

Music was provided by a string quartet. Monica Mouer of Moline, Ill., was soloist.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory chiffon A-Line strapless gown with a floor-length veil. The bodice of the gown was accented with pearls. She carried a hand bouquet of ivory roses, freesia, misty blue caspia, and galax leaves.

Attending the bride as matron of honor was her sister Robin Totten of Gresham, Ore. The groom's sister Amanda Mead of Manhattan was maid of honor. They wore matching tea-length, V-necked dresses of black chiffon and carried bouquets of ivory roses similar to the bride's.

The bride's cousins Abbey and Allie Widick of Lee's Summit, Mo., were flower girls. Their long ivory chiffon dresses were fashioned with spaghetti straps. Each carried a small silver pail filled with rose petals. Kade Bergstrom of Plains was ring bearer.

Matt Mead of Kismet served his brother as best man. Groomsman was Tim Summervill, brother of the bride. They also served as ushers.

Amy Diehl of Overland Park and the groom's sister-in-law Keely Mead of Kismet were guest book attendants. Gifts were received by the bride's cousin Callie Paquette of Ottawa.

Hosts at the reception, dinner, and dance which followed the ceremony were the bride's aunt and uncle Bob and Kay Appleberry of Independence, Mo., and the groom's aunt and uncle Steve and Carol Mead of Hesston.

Reception assistants were the bride's aunts Sue Navrat of Vermillion, S.D., Barbara Summervill of Hutchinson, and Val Summervill of Arvada, Colo.

The bride is a 1995 graduate of Marion High School and a 1999 graduate of Kansas State University. She is employed at Family Connections in Manhattan. The groom graduated from Southwestern Heights High School in 1995 and from K-State in 1999. He is employed by Emerge of Sebastian, Fla.

The couple honeymooned in Cozumel, Mexico. They reside in Manhattan.

Rehearsal Dinner

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner which was held June 6 at Country Dreams Bed and Breakfast.
