Senator Nancy Kassebaum will be the featured speaker at the 45th annual meeting of the Flint Hills Rural Electric Cooperative Association to be held Monday at the Tri-County Fairgrounds in Herington.
Kim Buethe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Buethe of Lincolnville, was one of 11 students from seven Midwestern states to attend the 1983 Midwest Poultry Federation Youth Conference at Minneapolis, Minn., Feb 16-18. Buethe assisted Dr. Al Adams, extension specialist in poultry science at K-State, at one of the workshop discussion.
Rochelle Mueller and Cyndi Woerz of Marion were pages for Rep. Duane Goossen Friday in the Kansas Legislature in Topeka. Rochelle is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Mueller and Cyndi Woerz, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Woerz.
Births announced in this week's issue include Kyla Suzanne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Burk II of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Julie Michelle, daughter, of Alvin and Arlene Hett of Hillsboro; Brian Michael, son of Richard and Lola Wiebe of Houston, Texas; Amanda Dawn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Fruechting of Marion; and Adam Michael, son of Bill and Connie Rogers.
Tim Richmond, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Richmond of Marion, is the vocational agriculture student of the month. He is in his fourth year of studying vocational agriculture at Marion High School.
Jessica Tajchman, a member of the Centre High School chapter of Future Farmers of America placed third in livestock judging at the Kansas Beef Expo, held recently at the Kansas Coliseum.
