The Marion Babe Ruth baseball team hosted Florence Tuesday night, and defeated their guests 11-2, with every member of the host team seeing action. The Marion victory was sparked by the inspired pitching of young sandy-haired Ora Hett, who allowed but three hits and gave up both runs in the last inning. The team is managed by Lynn Christensen and capably coached by Arnold Schwemmer.

Margie Bernhardt, the 1957 Marion County Fair Queen, is in Pratt, Kansas, this week in the statewide competition for the title of Miss Kansas. Margie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bernhardt of Marion.

Thus man-made rainfall can be furnished at will to the plants.
