Marion High School will present its entry in the one-act play contest at Council Grove Friday afternoon. The play chosen is "The Monkey's Paw." Characters will be played by Donald Dody, Mary Louise Heath, Kenneth Sly, Harold Wayne Kline, and Charles Muse. Miss Louise Strobel is directing the production.

Miss Ella Meier, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Meier Jr., Marion, is a member of the Bethany College Oratorio Society whose rendition of Handel's "Messiah" will be broadcast on WDAF, Kansas City, Mo., directly from Presser Hall on the Bethany College Campus at Lindsborg on Palm Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bailey have named their daughter, Suzanne Jean, who was born Wednesday, March 17. They also have a 13-month-old son, John.

A number of Marion people plan to attend the concert being given in Wichita tonight, Thursday, by Miss Jeanette MacDonald, star of screen and the concert stage. Among them are Mrs. Louise Blackim, Mrs. Clara McKay, Miss Dorothy Pollitt, Miss Edna Rupp, Miss Melva Goering, Miss Ruth Jo Willming, and Dr. and Mrs. G.J. Goodsheller.

Prospects look good for a fine baseball nine representing Marion High School this spring. Batteries are now at work in the gym. Conyers and McDaris are working out as pitchers. Three men seek the catcher's spot, Jim Druse, Don Fruechting and Ralph Dohner. Infield contenders include Merrill, Reinke, W. Hayen, Powell, Woerz, J. Fruechting, Hollar, Frazier, R. Ireland and L. Herbel. Applicants for positions in the outfield are K. Allen, Call, W. Klein, Youk, Grimes and R. Navrat.
