Merle Albrecht
Merle Dale Albrecht, 76, retired Lincolnville farmer, died Aug. 29, 2002, at Via Christi-St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
Funeral services were held Sept. 3 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Lincolnville, with Pastor Alan R. Stahlecker officiating.
Mark Ihde was the organist. Burial was in the Lincolnville Cemetery.
Albrecht was born Nov. 11, 1925, at Lincolnville, the son of the late Rudolph and Ottilie (Krause) Albrecht. He was confirmed in the church on May 2, 1940.
He was married to Delores Ihde on Aug. 27, 1950, in the Lyons Creek church.
They lived on a farm east of Lincolnville for 28 years prior to retiring and moving into town.
The couple had two children. Survivors include his wife, Delores, of the home; son Randy of Wichita; daughter Linda Castle and her husband Bob of Henderson, Nev.; two grandchildren; brothers, Erano and Leland Albrecht of Lincolnville and Gail of Lindsborg; sister, Lola Brockmeier of Herington; and many others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Sylvester, and sister Ruth Gregg.
A lifelong resident of the community, he was well known and served in many capacities.
He was a real estate agent, was on the board of Flint Hills Rural Electric Cooperative, on the board of Marion County Soil Conservation District, the Lincolnville and Centre school boards, and was a veteran who was active in Gilbert-Poppe American Legion Post 347.
