Merle Morris M.D.
Merle D. "Bud" Morris, M.D., 81, Topeka died May 2, 2003, at a retirement home in Topeka.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne A. (Carpenter) Morris of Topeka and formerly of Marion.
Other survivors include son Tom Morris of Topeka; daughters, Julie Plourde of Richmond, Va., Nancy Cox of Tucson, Ariz., and Anne Cox of Houston, Texas; sister, Margery Buchanan of Okmulgee, Okla., 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was raised at Potwin and graduated from Topeka High School in 1939, the University of Kansas, and the KU School of Medicine in 1945.
He was a captain in the Army, serving in Japan following World War II.
He was a physician of obstetrics and gynecology in Topeka until he retired in 1985.
His first wife, Barbara Duff preceded him in death.
Services were held Tuesday morning at First United Methodist Church in Topeka. Burial was at 2:30 p.m. at Marion Cemetery.
